Travis was one of the best ambassadors to the sport for the younger generations than nearly anyone out there. Everytime I saw anyone ask Travis for a photo, autograph, or even just ask a few questions, he would stop everything he was doing and GENUINELY pay attention to his fans and entertain their wishes. And he's an amazing driver to boot. I think of him in the same light as Carl Merrill when it comes to doing it the right way by his fans.

You say DC pumps Ken Block a lot of money right? Doesn't Ken Block own a lot of DC, if not all of it? So wouldn't that technically be Ken Block pumping money into Ken Block?

Either way, he founded DC Shoes from what I understand, so he earned his money and success.

He might not be the greatest driver, that is debatable, but I don't give a shit because I've seen him drive one time on a two minute video. There are lots of successful people that get invited to things because of some other success they may have. Get over it.

Once again, I am no Ken Block nut swinger, but I just don't bash people I don't know on internet forums. I just don't get why it brings JOY to some people here to see Ken Block not do well. What the fuck did he ever do to you? Anything personally, probably not?

Ken Block is marketable. Not a good racer. You think Monster cares if he finishes a race? Prolly not, as long as it sells a few more cans. All they care about $$$. You guys ever taste Monster? Id rather drink my own piss after drinking a ton of Red Bulls! Either way though its all just marketing.

What about his Gymkhana shit? that's what he's more popular for, not racing.

Maybe he's (one of) the best in the world at that, who knows. I don't enjoy his shenanigans because of his racing. I'm more into Pastrana and Foust for that. But there's no denying that I enjoy watching the gymkhana videos once in a while.

I don't know Ken Block so I can't form an opinion, I can only speak to his results, and that seems to be that he has trouble finishing events.

However, I have known Erik for a long time and trust his judgement of character.

Actually I don't think Ken owns any of DC Shoes anymore. He sold off his shares a few years ago (as far as I have been told by numerous sources). If he does own any, it's a very small portion. He was either President or VP of DC (and obviously started DC), but he doesn't have much to do with them other than his sponsorships from them.

He is very good at marketing. I will not take that away from him. He built a good company that made him a lot of money for himself and his wife and kids. He just doesn't seem to care about anyone but himself when comes right down to it. He needs to be a little more humble than what he is before I could ever take him seriously. Travis did this when he actually went to rally school and learned what he was doing wrong so he could correct himself. And it paid off with numerous Rally America championships. As the saying goes, "Ken needs to be knocked down a peg or two." He has the potential to be on the top of the game, he just can't get out of his own way to get there.
