I have yet to meet a single person who didn't like it better with the pill gone; even the biggest of the ultra whiny bitch boys! I don't care how many miles you have on your car, removing it does nothing but improve the feel and lengthen clutch life.

Oh yeah, and get a MBC.

LOL wow! Can I touch my balls while you work on my car?

I do agree though; zero negative effects. Worse case scenario, we just put the pill back in for you, but I've NEVER heard of anyone wanting to do that. I really don't understand why so many X guys are afraid of this, it was the same thing with the 8/9 guys...but not quite as bad since so many were previous DSMers. My stock IX clutch actually started slipping during hard downshifts so that's when I removed the pill; I then put another 15k miles (including autocross) on the clutch without it slipping even a single time.

I just see it as completely the package you've already started. You gave your hand all the niceties with your shifter and bushings, why not get your foot a little love too? If the car were bone stock I'd see it otherwise, but for an already modded car that you've spent thousands on, why stop and skip the easy/cheap stuff that frankly will give you a more noticeable benefit on a daily basis than your $730 intercooler?

Well being one of those guys that is reluctant to do it, I think you pretty much have your answer in what I said above. I don't see a problem with it as it is. It sounds like this is one of those life lessons you'll learn once it happens to you with a big fat "I told you so!" at the end of the story, lol.

It could also be a few other things, such as "Well Mitsu must have put it there for a reason" or "I don't understand how the whole thing works, so if it's not broken, don't fix it". I think I fall in the latter of those 2 statements. :(

It's not something you feel until after you've done it. It really does make a world of difference.

I'm going to second the "quit being a goddamn fucking woman" bit. Just do it.

I now apply both those statements to your stock intercooler, shifter, bushings, etc. :)

Oooooh, very good point! I'll have to think about how to respond to that. Perhaps we can get to the bottom of why guys are reluctant to remove it.

He was referring to my 2 statements in quotes in my previous post.

I can agree to that. I would totally fall under that label except you'd have to tweak it to "never owned a manual Mitsu before" because I've had 2 Galants before going to the Evo (both automatics).

And that makes perfect sense. Case and Point: I didn't mod my Evo for almost 2 years. Even after reading up on stuff across forums and going to NTEC meets, I was still reluctant to even mod it but eventually I did. I will say that I was nervous as shit when I first turned the car on after swapping the UICP, FMIC, and Intake. Having never done it before, it takes nerves.

I'd say you're probably spot on with that answer.

You can forget about trying to please Kracka. He points fingers at guys like me that do too many mods as well. Unless you do exactly like Kracka then he's gonna bitch. You don't have a WW Evo so you've already lost.

Blue is my 2nd favorite X color ;)

No offense, but look who's car has been up and running at 100% all summer and who's hasn't. I never said you've modded too much, you've just taken the long, complicated, route when a simpler/cheaper would have net the same results. You probably have the most expensive and complex fuel system for any street X yet you still have fueling issues.

To each their own though, just glad I don't have to constantly dick with my car to keep it on the road and getting me to/from work each day. I bought my car to enjoy it and drive it on a daily basis and I'm doing just that :D I give advice to the best of my ability but at the end of the day if it's not taken it's really no sweat off my back so mod on fellas and have a good time doing it since that's the whole name of this game :)

Also, my apologies if it ever seems like I'm mad or getting pissy with anyone; I've been in the DSM/Evo scene for over 10 years and am just very passionate about it. I've done a lot of great mods but also some bad/dumb ones too so I just try and take some of the knowledge I've learned along the way and pass it along to the guys newer on the scene.

Got the Torque Solution drive shaft bushings installed this evening. Hopefully my allergies won't make me miserable tomorrow so I can do the Beatrush rear diff bushings before the NTEC meet @ Kincaid's in the evening.

Come to the monthly meet on Tuesday. I will probably show up after everyone is done eating (mom's bday dinner). Look forward to meeting you at some point though. :)

Beatrush rear diff bushings installed this morning! Car is ready again to go rock around DFW with the new bushings, Specialty X exhaust, and CF gurney flap (which I added for looks which makes me a ricer according to Lomker, but I'm sure it adds "some" downforce so it's not total rice, lol ;))

Nice, you'll enjoy the rear diff bushings a lot I think; I love mine!
