You can get a plug for the wiper, but why would you want to? We live in MN! I LOVE my rear wiper!

Anyone else interested in donating to the cause!?! We got about a week left before the dyno day, where the money will be presented!

I love my rear wiper, I would never even think about getting rid of it for a daily-driven street car in MN. I really notice how much I miss it when I drive the WRX in snow/rain.

Re: PLEASE READ Re: VANDALISM on Spring Cruise

Really? When I'm at least moving in snow/rain conditions it never builds up on the rear glass, I only use it when I start up the car after it's been sitting in snow. Even if it's been sitting in the rain it runs off immediately, never sticks to the glass.

If I'm on the highway it can be raining and my back hatch will be completely dry. I wouldn't mind getting rid of my wiper if the spoiler didn't have a big notch in it.

EDIT: I would guess rain/snow buildup on a DSM would be worse than an EVO because of the angle of the glass, but it's just a guess.

Re: PLEASE READ Re: VANDALISM on Spring Cruise

^Exactly. And any time there is snow on the back, just turn on the defroster once you scrape after a large snowfall.

I guess I just think wipers on the rear are tacky on a sports car.

Good thing I drive a 4-door family sedan then. Even with Rain-X the rear glass doesn't clear itself off perfectly and since I'm particular about my vision I like all the snow and rain drops gone. Plus, this way I don't need to brush off snow in the winter.

LOL, I bet your insurance rates don't agree with that. But seriously, how many sedans do you see with rear wipers? It is sort of weird they have them.

Personal preference I suppose, like everything else on cars...

Haha! I was going to say, I don't drive a sports car, I drive a rally car! That rear wiper is rally-inspired, because it is very useful!

Hughes, how can you say you are concerned about your rear vision when you have a plank going right across your rear window blocking your view! :P

That plank is perfectly placed to block the headlights of cars behind me from shining into my mirror!

How many sedans can be heard from a 1/2 mile away and have huge wings tacked on their trunks? The Evo isn't really ordinary. I wish more cars did have rear wipers though; I loved having one on my DSM's and I feel the same about it on my Evo. Janelle has also commented on how she wishes her WRX had one.

I know too many Hondas that meet that criteria.

Oh snap! Good one though, I have been meaning to repaint those ugly things. That was one of the first "mods" on my car back when I first got it in 2004.

Anyway, sorry for cluttering this thread, back on topic.

Last time I checked your car was not a truck or van, it was a car. So yea it is a sports car, yes more accurately- sports sedan. :)
