Well I suppose I might as well steal this pic off their site. But here's another VC I did for a local ;)

That turbo looks really good! Is that the "almost chrome" powder?

Re: Powder results

That's actually gunmetal with a clear coat. I guess it's hard to tell by the pics. Same color as my intercooler piping and intake that you see in a couple of the other pics. And yes, I did it to match my IC piping, because that turbo will be going into the Talon ;)

I haven't done a whole lot with that Chrome powder yet. just a couple little things. It seems to be really touchy.

Mark - here's a little preview of one of the others you gave me to do for you. Turned out better then that first one I'd say.

Might as well add my most recent VC.

Went for the OEM look with the red letters, and grey rest of it. Except instead of grey/silver, I did gunmetal to match all my piping and give it a slightly different then OEM look. Then put a coat of clear on it as well.

As soon as it's warm enough to use the bike for transportation again, I'll be bringing you mine. I have a black Hyundai cover that needs to be re-coated.

Re: Powder results

Yes, very nice! How did you get the red on there?

Halon 01-27-2009 05:53 PM

Re: Powder results

I masked off most of the Valve cover with paper and sprayed down the red first in the areas where the lettering is. Then Cured it. Then took it out, let it cool off, and sprayed the entire cover with gunmetal. Then I slightly wet a sponge and used that to brush/absorb the gunmetal powder off the top of the letters. Then Cured. Took it out, let it cool, and covered the entire cover with a clear coat powder. Cured again. All done :) The gunmetal was a little bit light in some areas, so you can see a slight hue of red in some areas that the red was. I think it kind of looks neat personally!
