I've also been looking at DuPont Corian and LG Hausys Hi-Macs. My intentions all along have been to avoid stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.

And since Quartz is manufactured, as opposed to Granite which is quarried, there are more options for colors and patterns.

Yep, I wrote granite and meant quartz. Brain fart! I don't like the look of quartz myself and will be going with granite. Recycled glass is much the same as quartz, just the recycled glass makes it more interesting to look at.

Lol, birds are fake. We are still trying to get the black cat to sit in the window for an extended period!

Thanks guys, we do go a bit all out, but have fun with it and scare the older children on Halloween which adds some fun.

We are pretty happy with our Corian counters. There are a few light cut marks in it though, not quite as durable as Quartz.

I like my granite counters, they came with the house.

I must say i do not like that they do not clean up well. They have a lot of water stains that I can't get out.

Re: House Projects

Take a razor blade to the hard water stains, thats what I have to do from time to time, cleans right up.

The final piece was delivered on Friday morning! Very happy with the new set. I especially like how quickly the oven pre-heats and how quickly it can boil water.

Just don't get the two mixed up if you're on the ground.

Thanks bud! I am extremely happy with it, great investment I think, will be put to good use.

Just need the table/chairs for it and grilling out with cocktails will commence.

Nice deck! Twss. Just in time for winter haha, still nice to check that off your list.

I have to stain mine next spring, not looking forward to that.

same, going to do mine in spring once it dries out.

Yea, it took way longer to get done than I had hoped. Mainly because it was tough lining up the guys helping me out on the side as they obviously didn't want to work every free minute they had.

Perfect timing actually as it's probably the time of year when patio furniture starts going on clearance.

IDK if I ever posted but garage project is done for now, got all of the holes and misc gaps closed up with new seals and such so we'll put the heater to the test once the snow starts to fly!

Anyone know any wireless-enabled line-voltage thermostats that support 208V/30A ? :)

Fucking Hughes and a coworker of mine jinxed me I swear. Him with the new hotness and coworker was going on about how flaky refridgerators are. My fridge defrosted the freezer one weekend earlier this summer and then started working again before much more than the ice cream melted...well last weekend it kicked the bucket for good. It was like 47°F in the freezer and only got down to 57°F in the fridge.

Needless to say I threw away a shitload of good food :( Thankfully the beer didn't spoil so natually I found a replacement beer fridge that has a little extra room for normal groceries :)

Will have to slowly re-stock it, these things are not cheap. It's a GE Adora 25.9, and because my house is pretty old the cabinet above it was sagging a bit so it needed to be cut about a half inch...the day it was going to be delivered I was scheduled for a customer training with like 20 people that I could not reschedule so TKR Mark swung by and made sure the delivery guys didn't hit my tv on the way in (front door was the only option) and he must have been bored because the damn thing was hooked up and ready to rock for me by the time I got home! Such a freaking rock star--thanks again dude!
