Re: House Projects
You need a few more trees! :)
Golf course looking grass though, very nice. Hopefully you have a nice rider for that stuff. |
Re: House Projects
It's Curt, he'll be out there with tweezers and a razor blade

Re: House Projects
LOL. That is the only tree we'll probably put in that section. We put a row 5 maple trees on the side of the house this summer. The berm has several trees in it already.
Right now I just have a 54 inch lawn tractor. But next year I plan on buying a 72" finish mower to run off the 3 point of my Mitsu tractor. :) |
Re: House Projects
Looks great! Thats a lot of mowing!

Re: House Projects
Well, 3 of the 4 new appliances are in! When they unboxed the range it looked like a truck ran it over (which is odd because the box was in perfect condition) so they'll be delivering a new one sometime this week.

It will easily hold at least 2x the stuff as my last one; same with the freezer. I've only run one load in the dishwasher so far, but its much quieter than my old one which is awesome. You can just barely hear it running while standing in the kitchen, but can't hear it at all while sitting in the living room with the TV on. When I have the countertops replaced I'm going to have them add some trim around the dishwasher to give it a more built-in finished appearance. |
Re: House Projects
That looks to be quite a bit more fridge than that space looks to be designed to accommodate! The extra storage has got to be nice though, more room for beer.
|
Re: House Projects
The new fridge definitely sticks out further than the old one, but the picture is a bit misleading in how it looks. In person it looks about right and fits nicely with plenty of room for the pantry door to swing open and the freezer drawer to fully slide out.

Re: House Projects
Very nice.

Re: House Projects
Here are some BEFORE pictures. Looking at them, the new fridge is only a few inches deeper than the old one.

Re: House Projects

Re: House Projects
We had a side by side fridge in our townhouse, couldn't hold anything, bad layout on those imho. Now have a french door with bottom freezer, and completely agree it seems like it holds twice as much.
Kitchen upgrades are looking good, the darker gray color is nice. I love the butcher block idea on the island, my dad made one for my sister as "new house" gift when they moved in. Just need to keep up on the maintenance and they last a really long time between resurfacing. Plus 2" of wood can be resurfaced many times, just sand it down a bit and refinish. |
Re: House Projects
Only bad thing about the butcher block is that it holds germs inside it. Chicken and fish is especially bad. Have you checked out stained concrete? That is pretty cool. Granite is the easiest to take care of, but I am not a huge fan of it. Recycled glass is another option starting to catch on.

Re: House Projects
Yea I was looking at quartz when the time comes to upgrade, colors are great and its ab it cheaper than granite. Which like you said can stain easily. I put granite in the bathroom and the dark stone also shows water spots very easily, id be going with a lighter quartz when the time comes.
