I stopped up at DB today and was talking with Danny and he explained to me better about the key fob, that is kind of funny, but sucks at the same time.

It's gotta be somewhere in there, i would pull seats first, you know its under there somewhere.

Man, what a lame problem to have, sorry man, lol.

That one is bizarre. The one-touch up on my driver's window also stopped working during that week, which may be a coincidence. I tried doing a power reset on the ECU and it is still convinced that the fob is in there.

I was joking that if we pull the interior then I might as well put a full cage in there. Just kidding this time. haha.

The window thing you have to do a goofy thing to reset it i think. At least my RSX was that way upon power loss.

You would have to hold the button down until it closed then keep holding it down for a while. Then do the same for opening it or something like that.

I just keep opening and closing it and holding it for a while and eventually it would work.

They've got some baller setups that use GPS or OBDII port data as overlays and of course that'd be awesome.

My Go Pro doesn't register any sound on my car and my car is fairly loud.

One of the viper guys that I know has a pretty nice setup. He has a racepak data logging system and software to work with his GPS to show him gong around the track. If you search for the BIR short course on youtube, you will see it with him running a 1:45 lap (which is fast for a street car). It would probably cost $2k for a similar setup though.

I would laugh if you were there having a convo about pulling the interior and putting in a cage just to have u turn away for second and turn back to Danny in his welding gear, asking if you want swingouts or not. lol

These guys may soon have the answer to your guy's needs. I know the guys behind it, and I personally handled a national rally event(in CA/AZ) with their equipment a couple months ago for testing.. It's good stuff. Basically it's video/sound, and gps mapped. Gives all sorts of data, and the video/map interface is pretty slick. It's not public yet, but here is the site for reference:

*Edit: I was just told a new site is coming soon.

^ Haven't heard of that one before.

Below is a link to one of the videos I was talking about. He needed the racepak data logging system and the trackvision software. My $2k price is probably a little high. Last time I talked to the guy, he said prices have gone down on the racepak.

Re: Evo X upgrades

The videos my brother shot didn't turn out too well. The combination of my only taking 8 laps, the wind, and the poor vantage point near turns 12 & 13. I was running this section of the track fairly slow...I intend to add a lot of speed through here next time.

The only interesting thing is the bov around :11. I love the sound of that thing.

I never get to hear my own exhaust but this clip sounds pretty cool.

Looks fun, once you get used to the car i am sure you will rocket through that part.

Why insist on larger injectors when you can just turn up the fuel pressure? Injector Dynamics themselves say it's fine to run 100psi. So set your base pressure at 60psi if you are running out of fuel with the 1000s.

Cranking the fuel pressure lowers the output of the fuel pump.

That requires an afpr setup, which isn't free. It also makes controlling the idle difficult and you have to disable the pressure reliefs on a Wally 255 to make it happen. I looked into this approach and most tuners didn't like the idea of upping pressure by more than 2-3 psi.

My 1000cc injectors are DW. The ID2000's flow an insane amount at high pressures. 3710 at 130psi!

FattyBoomBatty 05-26-2010 12:43 AM

Re: Evo X upgrades

ID's aren't magically different than different brands when it comes to flowing more at high pressure. Your DW's will do the same. Also, I'm under the impression that there are different types of walbro pumps, specifically a low and high pressure version. Or go with a fancy anodized pump from another manufacturer that can actually work at higher pressures.

VW guys have been putting 4 and 5 bar fpr's on their stock injectors for a long time. Maybe floppyhead could expand on his trite statement by showing a chart or something of fuel flow over psi for a regular walbro? Maybe?

Also, with all you've done, I am actually surprised you don't have a bcfpr. 20 pages and no aftermarket fpr? For shame! It's one of the first things I bought.

I must admit, the racing fuel setups are pretty bling. Gates' surge tank looks like an octopus in his trunk...pretty cool.

I actually do own one but I haven't bought all the hoses and fittings to install it. It shouldn't be necessary with this turbo from a flow perspective.

This isn't a regular Walbro but the principle should be the same. You'd want a beefy pump setup if you were doing something extreme like doubling the base.

They are different! Some injector will actually start flowing less at higher base pressure.

You need some crazy fuel pump setup to run a high base pressure with high boost on top of it. You would only be able to run super high base's with an all-motor car or with mechanical fuel pumps. Walbros also don't like much over 75-80psi, so 60psi + 30psi of boost = past the crack pressure.

Most people don't need an AFPR, it's one of the most over hyped and often un-needed parts that people waste their money on instead of actual parts they need.

meh, I like FattyBoomBatty. I love his car and he's a decent conversationalist. Some people on here don't discuss things because they 'know' they are right and don't feel a need to explain their answers.
