Re: Evo X upgrades
I stopped up at DB today and was talking with Danny and he explained to me better about the key fob, that is kind of funny, but sucks at the same time.
It's gotta be somewhere in there, i would pull seats first, you know its under there somewhere. Man, what a lame problem to have, sorry man, lol. |

I was joking that if we pull the interior then I might as well put a full cage in there. Just kidding this time. haha. |

You would have to hold the button down until it closed then keep holding it down for a while. Then do the same for opening it or something like that. I just keep opening and closing it and holding it for a while and eventually it would work. |

One of the viper guys that I know has a pretty nice setup. He has a racepak data logging system and software to work with his GPS to show him gong around the track. If you search for the BIR short course on youtube, you will see it with him running a 1:45 lap (which is fast for a street car). It would probably cost $2k for a similar setup though. |

Re: Evo X upgrades
^ Haven't heard of that one before.
Below is a link to one of the videos I was talking about. He needed the racepak data logging system and the trackvision software. My $2k price is probably a little high. Last time I talked to the guy, he said prices have gone down on the racepak. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkcmR-cxf7Y |
Re: Evo X upgrades
The videos my brother shot didn't turn out too well. The combination of my only taking 8 laps, the wind, and the poor vantage point near turns 12 & 13. I was running this section of the track fairly slow...I intend to add a lot of speed through here next time.
The only interesting thing is the bov around :11. I love the sound of that thing. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
I never get to hear my own exhaust but this clip sounds pretty cool.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Looks fun, once you get used to the car i am sure you will rocket through that part.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Why insist on larger injectors when you can just turn up the fuel pressure? Injector Dynamics themselves say it's fine to run 100psi. So set your base pressure at 60psi if you are running out of fuel with the 1000s.

My 1000cc injectors are DW. The ID2000's flow an insane amount at high pressures. 3710 at 130psi! |
Re: Evo X upgrades
ID's aren't magically different than different brands when it comes to flowing more at high pressure. Your DW's will do the same. Also, I'm under the impression that there are different types of walbro pumps, specifically a low and high pressure version. Or go with a fancy anodized pump from another manufacturer that can actually work at higher pressures.
VW guys have been putting 4 and 5 bar fpr's on their stock injectors for a long time. Maybe floppyhead could expand on his trite statement by showing a chart or something of fuel flow over psi for a regular walbro? Maybe? Also, with all you've done, I am actually surprised you don't have a bcfpr. 20 pages and no aftermarket fpr? For shame! It's one of the first things I bought. |

meh, I like FattyBoomBatty. I love his car and he's a decent conversationalist. Some people on here don't discuss things because they 'know' they are right and don't feel a need to explain their answers.
