Re: team ab drag race and street builds
^ Well, 30psi on a 2.4 is flowing a lot more air than 30psi on a 2.0.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
No it was e82 according to Shane. I guess I'm not following the question though as in bad numbers or?

No, not bad numbers, not bad at all! But I guess when I think of a 3582 being "maxed" I think like 40psi and 700+ whp is all. I think brad was making about 600 on his 3065? |
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Brad had a 100 shot of nitrous.
|
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Looks like a 3065 and 3582 use the same compressor wheel. Guessing the 3582 has a bigger turbine. Anyways, wasn't meaning to bash by any means, just asking because I see so many people now days saying they need to upgrade their turbo when they aren't even putting their current one to full potential.
|
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
I think we were close for sure, I think we all know Shane would have easily done 550 with his tuning skills by tuning around timing etc but I felt it wasn't needed. Don't get me wrong it's fast, I just think I may want to go faster. As of now I will most likely rock the 3582, but if I can't run as fast as I want to I will have to upgrade for sure. This motor will be obviously be different in so many ways it may be fun just to see the difference in that aspect before a turbo upgrade anyways.
Btw ban goodhart for saying Shane's tunes suck lolololol jk. |

I'm going to steal that sucker when u come here. I believe I am tuning the og team ab car soon. Time to let the 3065 rip.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
here is some more progress with mine and andre cars. I got some putsy work done moving things for fit and function and mocked up the intake and exhaust.
http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_0318.jpghttp://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_0319.jpg and here are some pics of andre progress with the sickest way to mount up a radiator i have ever seen. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_0317.jpghttp://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_0320.jpghttp://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_0321.jpghttp://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_0323.jpghttp://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_0325.jpg |
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
I think the force engineering guy did that with his compound setup.
You guys should make a thread for each car, you have some nice work/time into these. |
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
more badd asss photos of cars. FINALLY PICS OF THE OG TEAM AB CAR, well after andre spent a day on it.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
I took a few photos for everyone here. I spent a whole day on wiring as you will see the mess in the pic. I ended up completing most of the wiring from the firewall harness so now it is much shorter and hidden well with nice looms etc. The other pic is the three cars in the garage being worked on.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
You guys got some clean looking 2Gs.
I'm excited to see these cars, looks like some quality stuff on here. |
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Thanks we are doing our best to piss out wives off it seems and spend way too much money on our diamonds for sure. I should be able to finish my wiring this evening I hope and we will also be trying to get guys 2.4 back on the road after some clutch drag issues and replacing the 5/reverse hub and slider

Re: team ab drag race and street builds

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Thanks man, it was vht can't remember the exact color off hand, but I really like it
|
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Is that a white 2g on the lift?..... they do still exist lol.
|
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
These cars look really good! But I have a dumb question, as I read through this thread it seems like I'm supposed to know what Team AB is, whose cars these are, who the OG is, etc. I guess I must be out of the loop now a days because I'm getting confused with all of these references. How many cars you working on? Whose are they? I'm just confused with all theses references / accronyms?
|
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Lol the white one was painted by the owner Andre wicked white.
Halon you are actually the first person to ask. It's a team made up by a few friends of mine. As of now it's dan with the gvr4, Andre with the ww 2g, guy with the og maroon 2g, me nick with the red 2g, Jessie with the red 2ga |

What does AB stand for? Why is the maroon 2g the OG?
Keep up the good work though, cars look great and should be beasts at the track! |
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
I'll let Andre explain. Halon what was your power at when you ran your 10.93?
|
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
541awhp @ DB (dyno dynamics), 628awhp @ MAP (dynojet)

^awesome and good for you halon.
UPDATE the 2.4 2g or guys car is all put back together. The car has a sweet build but it still had a lot of the engine bay clutter going on like all the emission stuff etc. also the car needed a 5th/reverse hub and slider bad. The car is now ready for fluids and I can start the tune on it as soon as guy decides on what he wants to use for fuel and what set of injectors he wants to use this year. |
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Picked up some wheels and tires. I am pretty happy with them. Enkei wheels 17x7 38 offset tires eagle f1 all brand new.
Also Andre welded my new flange on my intake, so that's pretty much ready to go. We also did a bunch of powder coating and got my intake mani redone, all my ic piping and my intake and a few small parts done. I see no reason I shouldn't be able to have it ready for first start up very soon now. Pretty excited about the transformation. I never did upgrade turbos but we will see how it goes really. |

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
catch can lines were too short for now but thats minor. I must have mixed up #3 and 4 injector wires and I have two injectors not firing so I sent them off to fic today. Hope to have it running soon.
|
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Good luck with the injectors dude
|
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
Damn that engine bay is clean. I only saw under the car when I was there.
|
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
My fuel stuff has finally all arrived. Got a great deal on a sweet Bosch 044 setup and intake from Paul volk on tuners. Getting excited to get it all bolted back together here next week hopefully if all goes well.

Re: team ab drag race and street builds
The cars are lookin' good. Dark2g still needs to buy these carbon fiber fenders off of me. lol
|
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
looks great as always guys!!
dsmreck were did you tuck your harness and fuse box thinking about doing a minor tuck on mine ? |
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
I just did a quick wire tuck. I shortened everything by two feet by relocating everything behind the motor. The fuse box is under the frame behind the bumper for now. I will eventually put it in the glove box area and go a little more crazy next year. Wiring is not my strong point, but like anything I'm getting more comfortable with it. Thanks for the comments fellas. Carbon fenders sound fun. I'm more worried about my carbon hood situation though. I put a buddy heater in the engine bay and heated the hood up and it tinted the hood orange red brownish color. Don't really want to paint it red cause I like the look of carbon to contrast on my car.

Just was working threw some start up issues on my buddies eclipse and look at how I found his 1450s. These only have like a 1000 miles of Colorado e85 on them. This reminds me of Carls situation so much. One was barely opening, could have been the end of the db built 2.4 motor. Scary stuff. |
Re: team ab drag race and street builds
wow. Glad you found that before wrecking a new motor. I don't miss cars at all after reading everyones build threads. Keep up the good work guys. I sure do miss my old talon. It wasn't pretty but it was sure fun to drive. hope I get see you guys at proving grounds this year
