Sadly no, we had to take his Prius to lunch. We got the engine fired up a little after 5pm today. I'm sure we'll be out breaking it in fully then tuning it this week. He got some special fancy Amsoil 30W break-in oil for it. I know he siphoned out the 10 month old E85 tonight after I left and is planning on dumping in some fresh stuff after he takes his wife and kids to dinner.

Laramie gave me a tip on old fuel in tank. On the bottom on each side of tank is a M12 bolt just jack up rear put a bucket under and remove bolt. I got the tank drained completely took 3 car wash buckets for about 3/4 tank. Put in 4 fresh gallons of E85 changed the rom and its running awesome should be breakin it in today wooooohoooooooo!!!!!

Woohoo! It lives!!!!! Congrats man! Get some break-in miles on it w/ plenty of vacuum pulls and enjoy this thing!

Re: SE take two!

Lots of tuning to do still but overall it's running good. I really like the 4.11 gears 2900 rpm at 70mph now that's more like it. HUGE thanks go out to Hughes and Laramie who without them this wouldn't have happened.

Nice, the 4.11 gears are on my wish list!

Glad to see it's running and that it is running good.

Me and Chris took her out for some burgers and some wot pulls. Wow at only 24# it pulls very hard woooohoooo 52mph in 1st is awesome holding 20# in 1st is fun. Also it sounds very cool too :)

Running great so far! Tonight was fun!

Re: SE take two!

Got some tuning in tonight and got the break in oil out and fresh 10w-40 and filter on and she is running very smooth and hard. With the longer gears its doesn't seem like its hitting as hard but then you look down at the speedo and damn your going fast. It just pulls and pulls out to 8500. Currently at 27psi and wondering what this thing will feel like at 30+ :sasmokin:

Re: SE take two!

You gonna have Cobb do the final tune then?

PlanoEvo 07-11-2011 09:08 AM

Re: SE take two!

Not sure as currently they require an accessport and not sure if I can use my mbc. However I am not ruling out a tune somewhere down the road.

Kracka 07-11-2011 09:37 AM

Re: SE take two!

Hopefully they bring the new AccessFlash program to Evos too.

Murlo26 07-11-2011 10:36 AM

Re: SE take two!

They require the AP for 8/9's too? That seems silly as they don't really support it anymore unless I am not understanding something.

As of right now, correct. They're actually looking into tuning 8/9's with ECUFlash, but first they want to figure out a way to securely lock the ROM's so people can't edit/share them. Some tuners lock theirs in ECUFlash, but they're easy to unlock if you know what you're doing.

No doubt with the extra displacement and high compression its real easy to drive quickly with very little boost <5psi then warp speed just peddle pressure away :)

Crushed Bov some more tonight report back later...

PlanoEvo 08-02-2011 12:24 PM

Re: SE take two!

Crushedbov wasn't holding I ordered a Synapse DV and working much better. Running out of injectors 1050s and soon pump. Probably going to mod the walbro first and send back the DW 301 as I don't want to rewire and get a fpr just to make it work.

x2 would love to see the results.

It seems like you have some fuel system upgrades to make yet but hopefully you get em done soon :)

There is a dyno day weekend after the Shreveport cruise so possibly then but its been so hot here for the last month and brutal this week I might just wait till next month or whenever this fucking heat breaks!

Re: SE take two!

Sounds like you're on the right path man! My DW300 ran out of juice too, I'd say upgrade the injectors and see how far they can get you...a direct comparo between a modded wally and the DW300 would be neat to see!

If you're still out of fuel system after bigger injectors, be happy! You're making awesome power! Keep us in the loop :)

Agreed but if I install the DW Map won't take it back. So its modded Wally and 1450's and if pump runs out then I'll decide between dual wallys or bap

Ahh I understand, I thought you were on the DW pump already. Yes in deed, mod the wally!

goodhart 08-03-2011 01:51 PM

Re: SE take two!

God, I guess I am kind of let down by these new DW 300 and similar (Aeromotive, Jay's, etc)pumps. So much hype and they barely seem better than the good old cheap Walbro...or is it just me?

Kracka 08-03-2011 02:12 PM

Re: SE take two!

^That seems to be the general consensus :(

scheides 08-03-2011 02:17 PM

Re: SE take two!

The one thing they have going for them is that they are quiet 100% of the time. That's the only advantage I see at this point.

Kracka 08-03-2011 02:46 PM

Re: SE take two!

That is a really nice advantage though, Walbros whine like a bitch in heat, especially when they get...hot.

Re: SE take two!

I guess I have never heard my pump(s)...but other parts of my car are kinda...loud.

Today's dyno results please :D

The EF3 put down some pretty nice numbers!

PlanoEvo 08-20-2011 06:00 PM

Re: SE take two!

Okay graphs should be available on Cobb online soon! But here's the latest 478hp running 28psi peak tapering down to 23psi up top and hp was flat between 6500 and 7300. Peak torque was 425 kinda low tune needs a little work and more boost from tightening the wga should allow more boost up top. The 1050's are at 100 idc at 7500 at 23psi. Pump still has a little left as it wasn't going lean but I expect I'm near the limit of an Unmoddded Wally! Cant wait 1450's are going in soon and modding the wally should be over 500hp soon I'm Stoked!!!! It was also holding over 450hp all the way to 8000!
