wow... it is truely coming along well... so who built the engine for it (unless thats secret), and you defenatly need to bring it up to bir for the wed night "street races" haha

Nice...like how it looks so far. Oh and did that bird just get a cage? or was it always in one!

EvilEvo 04-18-2007 11:26 PM

Re: My Winter Project....

Skier: I dont have an engine yet :) I am using Vassil's motor for the time being which was built by Mitch at Engintecs. If I run out of money (Very soon) and no one gives me a freebie I will most likely use his engine when he isnt, lol.

EvilTalon: The cage was built around the bird. It it the most hideous contraption I have ever seen built :)

Re: My Winter Project....

No, but there should be. Is someone going to court?

EvilEvo 04-20-2007 06:04 PM

Re: My Winter Project....

Not sure if anyone is going to court... I got some Sheriff looking for me so who knows.

I dont think there are any new pics... I do have a video of me testing the parachute though on the highway. Ill upload it somewhere so you can watch it.

The chassis is fully welded, the front end is fully done and the rear is fully done. I didnt make the engine / tranny mounts yet but Im sure I will this weekend. I might weld on all the aluminum mounts and body mounts too. Depends on my ambition... Ive been kinda sick so havent done too much. Drink more than anything.

I did get the rear end ordered so that should be here sometime soon. The rest of the brakes, steering and pedals will be here on monday so its looking like it will be a car again in the next few weeks at most.

Re: My Winter Project....

nice video... could that perhaps be why a sherrif was looking for you??

EvilEvo 05-15-2007 06:24 PM

Re: My Winter Project....

Naw I have a friend that is a Sheriff and i talked to him. Nothing big :)

As for progress there hasnt been all that much. Busy doing other things like work and goin out.. My sister is leaving back for California soon so I went to party it up with her a few times.

Time to get back on the horse though... still have finished the engine / motor mounts and still need to mount the body on the car. I do have the gas pedal and brake pedal / system complete. I mounted the parachute on in its final position, added some more tubing to the rear (Looks pretty sick now) and got all my aluminum mounts installed. The rear end has been paid for and it doesnt sound like too long until it gets here. Strange is backed up from what I hear though so it may still be a few weeks out.

I also have most of the front end tubing mocked up so thats pretty much done. Once I get the engine and trans mounted for real Ill finish up the front end with the radiator, trans cooler and fuel cell mounts.

I am pretty sure I will be powdercoating the entire chassis now also. Got a good deal on getting it done and they have an oven big enough to fit the entire thing so once I get the last few tidbits done Ill be getting it coated. There is alot of stuff to be done but it really isnt all that much now. I am guessing around a month it should be 'done'.. or at least done enough where it will have everything it needs minus perhaps a turbo setup and intake manifold. My extremely high paying job has trouble keeping up with my spending habits.

Hopefully by this weekend I will get a bunch of stuff done to show off. Drag Racing Action Magazine is doing a little story on it now also so I kinda wanna get it pretty much done before they start doing thier thing. Dont want a half done looking pos in a magazine :)

thats really cool that your making a magazine I would say mention dsmstyle but do we want the extra traffic????? I'll let someone else decide :D

Here is some more shots of the rest of the tubes and chassis (Love the rust eh?):

Here is the new rear end:

http://registry.evolutionm.net/garag...00_4225-xl.jpg

Some axles that wont break (They even come with a warranty against breakage!):

http://registry.evolutionm.net/garag...00_4227-xl.jpg

And the packmount with my newest idea of my paint I will use:

http://registry.evolutionm.net/garag...00_4242-xl.jpg

I used some pearl but apparently not quite enough, it takes bright sunlight and you need to look for the pearl which is a nifty blue sparkle. When I actually paint my chassis Ill use more pearl to make it sparkle all pretty like.

Everytime I think Im almost ready to paint it I think of something else I need to weld on (Driveshaft loop, window net mount, ems mount, brakebulkhead fittings, etc..). I think I am actually finally just about done with it all so Im really hoping this weekend or early next week I can get it to our paint booth and make it all pretty!

Nice, and those axles are massive.:woohoo1:

I mean

Re: My Winter Project....

Finally got some time to get my chassis painted. Took me 12 hours and it still isn't exactly a perfect paint job. Everything seems to take a long time with these things but oh well. Im hoping to see if I can mount my body tomorrow (I suppose today now at this time) and then I just need a few tubes to mount stuff on the front end and tin work to be a real car again!

Hell yeah, bring it up even if it isn't done so we can drool over it!

EvilEvo 06-25-2007 01:26 AM

Re: My Winter Project....

Well its looking good to bringing it there but I really doubt it will run by then. Im talking with a few companies about full sponsorships to get me an engine, turbo, tranny, etc so if any of those pull through it may be running but I doubt even that. I am however pretty sure I will trailer it there just for fun.

I finished getting the body aligned with the chassis, putting on the fenders, bumpers, doors, etc. Along with all the brake componants, rear end, suspension, tires, etc... Its pretty much a full rolling chassis again.

I will get it tinned this week for sure. It may not be my final aluminum work but it will suffice for now to get it going. There are still alot of loose ends to tie up but many of them are not difficult or time consuming. I expect it to be fully finished minus the engine / transmission within a week or two at most. I should set up a donation box for an engine, transmission and turbo or something :)

Pics of the project will be coming up shortly here. It all turned out quite well.

Re: My Winter Project....

I tried to make it to a little outing here so I quick welded up my front tube that holds the front bumper and hood and will eventually hold the radiator, trans cooler, fuel cell, etc... So all in all it has every body panel on it now. I need to do a bunch of riveting, dzus fasteners and aluminum work but its getting very very close. Hopefully the next few weeks will get it finished up!

EvilEvo 06-28-2007 02:05 AM

Re: My Winter Project....

Oh and it weighs 1180 with everything minus aluminum work, lexan windows, longblock, turbo assembly, transmission. driveshaft, fuel cell, radiator/trans cooler and two doors. Not too bad. Im still hoping to be around 2100 lbs race weight. Might need to swap out the trunk with a fabricated carbon one and maybe the doors but I think Ill make my goal or be very close to it.

Anyone know where I can get it certified? Also, how much of the safety equipment needs to be on it? I am still missing a driveshaft tunnel, firewall (And other tin work), and a window net. Do they need this stuff to cert it or could I get it done right now?

Are those tires going to clear at speeds? Seems close where you cut out the rear door jambs.

The tires wont expand width wise... But they will get taller. The car hopefully has plenty of clearance.
