Re: Project V8killa
That just happened.
I was told by someone here that once you go T3, pick the smallest turbo you need to hit your goal and you will be happy with the powerband/spool. I've seen the 5858 first hand and on a 2.0L its a bad mother, but I think on a 2.4 assuming it can keep up with the motor up top, I guess cams, head, smim come into that it will be awesome. It did 510 thru an auto at 32psi spike just to see how much the injectors would keep up. I know if that was a 5 spd car it would do 570whp DJ all day. That's shitty cams, FMIC and stock intake. |
Re: Project V8killa
god damn that pic is awesome!
Ill probably go with the 5862 BB this will all be with a 280/280 ported head, SMIM, ETS race FMIC (short route), and side exit exhaust. Im hoping flow will not be an issue with the setup |
Re: Project V8killa
I got to say I'm scared to make the purchase on one, because I don't want to buy 2 new turbos. I have a lead on a temp manifold for mine...
Also I'd get the 5858 over the 5862, something about mismatched wheels rubs me the wrong way. I didn't realize that 62 is a cea wheel, i know the 58 is. My vote is the 5858 and sacrifice a possible 20whp. (going off PTEs ratings) |
Re: Project V8killa
yeah but people are haveing success with the 6266 there mismatched so i dont think it would be a big deal.
Yeah the 5862 does have the new wheel |
Re: Project V8killa
Oh the 6266 is fucking fantastic don't get me wrong, and its 80% for sure what i'm going with on a stroker, but the results from the 5858 are tremendous.
The 5858(no CEA turbine) and 5862(CEA compressor & turbine) both have the new wheel. My point was balanced turbos seem to do the best that is all. I don't know if you mentioned and i'm sure you did, but is it T3? I'm thinking of doing T4. |
Re: Project V8killa
Yeap the mani I bought is a t3 and going with a t3 4" SP IN .82A/R 3" vband out.
I get what your saying about having balance wheels though |

Re: Project V8killa
I just looked at their site, it is not.
I was told by someone that the 5858 has the cea wheel in it. weird because it used to be a 5857, i wonder how much that 1mm made a diff. |
Re: Project V8killa
Jet I think the 5557 has CEA wheels. At least that's what the STM site shows.
|
Re: Project V8killa
The 57 turbine wheel is not CEA either. The smallest they have so far that I have seen is the 62. I am a bit shocked they aren't making a smaller one for all the honda guys.

Re: Project V8killa
This is the turbo I was talking about.
http://www.streettunedmotorsports.co...5557_turbo.htm Says it's the new cea tech. |
