It was still fun! I'm really pumped to get my tune finished up

Also, since I'm a huge ricer at heart, I lowered the car another inch yesterday:

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1334515048

It's lower but not slammed. We rode around with 4 people total in the car last night and never rubbed. There's a bit of toe on the rears which I will correct.

Another item that needs addressing is crank case evacuation/ventilation. I have been having issues with my dip stick wanting to shoot out. I put a spring on it and now oil is coming out of my oil fill cap. With that much pressure I really need something better. I'm thinking keep the system as I have it now but just with -8AN breathers to a catch can. Sound reasonable? I'm "burning oil" now with how much is coming out of the cap.

Re: GSXTACY

I'm 99% sure I lifted the head in the car (or the HG was bad when I bought it).

What are everyone's thoughts on replacement?

I have a few options:

1: re-use standard ARP head studs, get new Felpro/Cometic 87mm head gasket, resurface head, call it a day
Pros: cheap, will probably handle the power fine
Cons: there is still risk of head gasket failure due to lifted head

2: new ARP L19 head studs, new Felpro/Cometic 87mm head gasket, resurface head, call it a day
Pros: this setup will probably never have issues
Cons: expensive, but less expensive than option 3

3: new MAP H11 head studs, new Felpro/Cometic 87mm head gasket, resurface head, call it a day
Pros: probably indestructible
Cons: easily the most expensive route

So, what would you guys do if you were me? I don't plan on ever running more than 25PSI (and I know some people say that, but I mean it)!

Also, what should I do for a head gasket? I've heard good things about the Cometic Phuzion, but it's expensive.

This.

I've never pushed coolant on this setup... which is more than I can say for a lot of other combos I've tried.

L19's and a felpro permatorque. Done and done

I starting lifting the head at 480 on DB's dyno, went to L19's and a permatorque and never had a problem with more power.

Ordered L19s, PermaTorue, Magnus heat barrier intake manifold gasket & Mr. Gasket exhaust manifold gasket.

Goodbye $500.

Yeah, it's been sitting in Bryan's garage for a while, he got a Mercedes and doesn't want to mess with these things anymore, I kinda envy him. :D

I had fun today guys. It was nice meeting a few of you and supporting a good cause.

Dyno numbers are so-so. It's pig rich and on stock timing. I need someone who really knows what they're doing to get her cleaned up. It runs good though and I'm real happy with it.

We left Duluth this morning at 6AM (meaning I had to get up at 4:15AM!) with a really cool group and a LOT of fast cars.

Anyway, the dyno was fun and a first for me. Here are the results:

Can you see a difference between run 1 and then runs 2 and 3? Jordan worked a little 10 second tuning magic there, lol.

Re: GSXTACY

What do you mean by 'stock timing' ?

Timing should come up to the 5-8 area when boost builds and then climb to the mid-high-ish teens at redline. AFR should be in the mid 11's everywhere under boost. Also, you're on e85 and you have a freaking hta82 wheel on that thing, turn the boost UP!

Do a boost leak test, sort out little issues as you have been but don't beat on it much until you invest in an a tune with an experienced pro...we have several locally!

This turbo should make 575whp on that dyno without changing too much, so you have a lot too gain :)

Looks like you need to visit shane for a tune. Doesnt maps wideband read richer? I thought I heard that from someone. But anyways congrats on making done from duluth and back with no problems. Cant wait to see new numbers.

Nice meeting and chatting with you before your car went on the dyno.

I mean... we didn't add any timing. The base line in ECM Link is "untouched". I had Jordan log the run and my AFRs were actually 11-11.5 as read by my AEM wideband.

Sorry but I'm not upping the boost... it's a DD man! It's super fun as is and once the tune is finished I'll be happy. IDC was right at 80% on that run anyway.

Yea I'll probably have him clean it up (I had an appt last Tuesday actually but had to cancel as I thought I lifted the head). It must, as mentioned below my AEM was logging 11-11.5AFR (it got richer up top though).

And thanks, it was cool to drive it there, drive it back and surprise a lot of people. Since I don't have any cam lope and it's quiet people don't expect it

It was good meeting you as well. I hope to make some more "meets" when possible.

LOL, you got some good headroom at 80%...lots of us run 30+psi with E85 on our DD's. :)

I have what will be a 750RWHP fun car for the weekends and nice summer days... I don't need two. I know the setup is capable of much more but that doesn't mean I need to run it at the max.

Can't he just have the car where he wants? so what if it has potential for 700+ on that dyno, it runs good now and there isn't much he will run into that he can't beat and if does well he has a sick 7 that will be as fast as the fastest guys on here if not faster.

Nice car, sorry I didn't get to meet you on sat.

Nice car, sorry I didn't get to meet you on sat.

Yup, exactly. I'm happy with how it drives now. Other than getting the tuned cleaned up I'm staying right at 25lbs. It also lessens the probability of me breaking stuff, although I know it's inevitable.

It would have been nice to meet you as well. It's always weird going to car meets because none of us know what each other look like, lol.

BTW I just got done replacing the driver's side front inner CV boot... that wasn't very much fun at all but at least I caught it early. Knock on wood the bearings are good.
