Thanks! I can't remember the last time I had that much fun driving the thing. Just coming to the realization that I finally was getting it. I've always considered myself an "average" driver. This weekend I felt was a huge step for me into becoming a good driver. I added a vid to the previous post too if anyone wants to check it out

Thanks Nate, I'm glad you were there to help me out, I never would have thought about moving my seat, but it sure did feel a lot better once I was going down the track. Maybe one of these days I can give you a run for your money!

Nice work!
Excited to see you hit a 9. There are a few days at rock falls and then the midway shootout at cedar falls.
I missed seeing any mitsus make good passes

Thanks man! I work for the Railroad though and the shitty part is I dont get weekends off since I dont have enough seniority to hold them. I have to take vacation days and I dont have any left :( i'm going to try and somehow make it work out to make it to the track once more this year.

Thanks Brad! It was running awesome all weekend. I think I had 3 runs that I missed 2nd. But thats just the clutch starting to Drag. I'm just pumped i'm so close to 9's and now I see that I am capable as a driver to hit them. That's the best feeling in the world right now

Bah, you don't have to tell me about shitty work schedules, I've basically missed all fun in the last year because of it.

Hell I missed PG on sunday because of it too.

let me know when you are thinking of going, I can't wait to get back to the track. Although to be honest, I need to start thinking of a cage soon as I'm sure you might if you don't have one already.

Re: Troy's Evo

I have a 6 point cage welded in already so I don't have to deal with the hassle

Full interior again, no stuff in the trunk this time, went to Rock Falls today knowing my clutch was "hurt", I still tried to fight through it and managed to run this. Still not a perfect 1-2 shift and the traction was a HUGE issue all day. Oh well, it'll go in the garage and come back better next year. I'm absolutely pumped with how this year went, I wanted that 9, but i'll settle for this I guess lol

Re: Troy's Evo

How was attendance?
I can only hope traction is better tomorrow I guess. :(

Re: Troy's Evo

There was quite a few cars, but I got a ton of runs in. It's just the typical 100ft of prep they do, and all the dirt all over so I had to do burn outs, which my dying clutch hasnt liked

Re: Troy's Evo

Well you tried and got stupid close.
A fart or spray fart might of netting you that time. Maybe some fatty farted in your direction and the resist F'd you over.

Crazy close, still a great slip even though it doesn’t start with a 9! The good thing is that you keep improving with each track outing. It doesn't get much closer than that. Any improvement plans this winter to make sure it breaks the barrier down? I attached my first 9 second slip below for comparison sake, notice you're quicker to the 1/8 & to the 1000ft line. One reason for poor short track times with the talon was the crappy 1 -2 gear ratio miss match.

Re: Troy's Evo

Damn Troy getting closer lol.

By looking at the slip of the 10.029 slip the car went ET quicker with less mph than your 10.003 pass. It will happen just keep trying.

Maybe go up to a 67mm and make more power and it will be back half quicker with more mph. :spin:

I plan on rebuilding my clutch or getting a new one, I have a prototype synchrotech synchro set on order so once they start making them those will go into my trans. I plan on finishing the safety stuff I need. And maybe buying some AWDmotorsports spec D2 coilovers. I know this car with this power can run 9's. If I can get that 1-2 shift down it will make it. Once I start running as fast as I can with this power i'll turn the boost up and see how deep it can go.

I love this 64, its hard to beat the spool on the street with this 2.3l lol. I plan on eventually going with a Magnus or AMS intake manifold at some point which should help out, I want to get this ported intake my friend did into the 9's first though. I'm excited to see what next year will bring!
