Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
Yay, more pics.
http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...2912112914.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...2912112933.jpg Went for an 80 mile drive yesterday with a couple friends. Car behaved like it should. Made some mudflaps for it Saturday and they worked well too. I have to trim the rears though, the suspension really settled a lot. Transmission is still holding up. I suppose if it were to break, it would've already. I was surprised it didn't break when I used the Galant to pull the Talon shell onto the trailer yesterday so we could take it to a new spot. |
Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
I bought myself a different intercooler from a friend of mine. It's about 28in wide, 10.5in tall, and 3.5in thick garret core. It was off his low 10 second 90 Talon, put down a little over 700 something to the wheels. I was very lucky as I didn't have to cut anything to get it to fit. Only had to drill two holes to mount it.
http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...1812193016.jpg Only real issue is both the inlet and outlet are 3in in diameter, but the couplers solved that. Put it together, test drove it and it pulled harder than it ever has at 22 psi with that on it. When boost hits, I actually get planted in my seat. |

Nice.

Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
Sick of this so called "winter" season, and wasting my snow tires on dry pavement every day so I put the summer wheels on. I like the 18's on the Galant, I'm curious what others think. My guess is the general vote will be too big:
http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...2612152956.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...2612153013.jpg Yes, car is filthy. I'm now working back at my old quick-lube car wash job so I'm going to wash it really good, wax it, and clean the inside tomorrow after work. |
Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
I like 18's in general, I think they look a little big because they're sticking out (at least it appears so from the second pic). 17's with a slightly higher offset I think would look better.
That's a pretty sweet FMIC. |

The intercooler is working really well. Spool is very quick and it pulls harder at every psi of boost than before. Now I need some 650's and cams. |
Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
Took a couple pics after washing it at work. Finally had a chance to clean my garage up a bit with the nice weather.
http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...1312165431.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...1312165454.jpg I'm really needing DSMlink. I'm so damn sick of my knock sensor picking up every stupid little thing thats going on. That, and I need bigger injectors and don't want to tune with the translator anymore. |
Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
Looks nice!

Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
18s! I remember putting 17s on my old gvr4...from a distance, it looked big maybe because it wasn't lowered.

Took a couple more pics the other day after washing it: http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...1012095828.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...1012095810.jpg The transmission I assembled is almost to 3000 miles but is making noises. Luckily I found a good trans/t-case combo for 125 so I'm just waiting on some Diaqueen trans fluid to arrive and then I'll swap it. Car is running okay, knock sensor still sucks. I'm rocking 20-22 psi but I'm running out of fuel at 22. A friend of mine has some 750's that I'll put in to take care of that issue. If not, then I'll have to get a 255 wally. |
Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
Sign it up for the dyno day!

I would seriously consider it, but it hits fuel cut due to the IDC's being so high at 23 psi. With my e3 16g internaly gated, the boost creeps sometimes to 25 psi so I gotta be careful. I know it pulls decent, but I do want numbers for once. |
Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
turn down the MBC a notch. :D
|
Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
Awesome! Makes me want another GVR4 :/ haha. You have an idea of what you think you'll get at the dyno?

I'd like to thiunk I'd be close to 300 awhp, but I have no clue. |
Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
Sounds like you just need to run E85 and embrace the higher boost!

I am really intrigued by E85, but for now I'm stickin with 93 octane. All I need is a little bit more fuel and I'll be very happy. |
Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
Was able to mount the tires I bought off of Cam, Nitto 555zr's 235/45/R17. Mounted them on my stealth TT rims that I just finished painting black. I like the new look, not nearly as flashy as the 18's and better grip.

Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
I just thought I'd post in my thread that I finally broke the transmission that I assembled. Happened last night, cracked the case. I'm very happy that it lasted for 10k hard miles though.

Re: 1945/2000 is mine!
Sorry to hear about your transmission!
Did you ever get your oil pan leak fixed? |
