How there are still conservatives is completly beyond me.
We had to deal with the bull shit of the conservative party for long enough. now its time to actually watch our country with strong leaders actually steer us in the right direction. (not the right wing direction).
The corruption of the past 8 years is finally coming to an end and there is actually hope and change in process. (at least clintons corruption was all about love (of blowjobs))
Four things i absolutly love about this new budget:
No Nuclear storage at Yukka Mountain (its not our fucking property, it belongs to native americans)
Tax cuts to those making under $250k (wow a politician that actually does what he says he will do in the race)
Lots of benefits going where we need it (healthcare, Education and not a WAR)
HONESTY - we will actually be able to find out how much we are spending in iraq to fight the war, no more hiding.
As much as you conservatives will never admit you are wrong, but Obama is the best thing for this country right now. As much as the economy is such a problem right now, McCain and Palin would have been the final nail in the coffin of this country.

I'm somewhat conservative, and I thought this even during the election (still didnt vote for him though). But you know what I have come to realize? We are fucked. We have been since before this election, before the last one, and probably before Bush entirely. Clinton fucked us, Bush fucked us worse, and you know what? Obama might not be here to fuck us but that's exactly whats going to happen anyway. I don't care which side you belong to, the citizens of the United States got fucked. Period.

I disagree. i dont believe we as a nation are fucked just yet. I dont even think clinton really fucked us. Bush/cheney was a totally different story. When i came to CA and saw how the housing prices were skyrocketing and the way it was coming about all i could say to myself is "oh shit here comes trouble." A) Because i knew someday i would actually like to purchase a house and the inflated prices would be seriously hard to get approved for if they stayed high and B) What happens when everything comes to a crashing hault. At the time i was roomate with a guy who was in the home loan industry for these questionable people who did not deserve to get loans. He was pulling some shady stuff to get people approved and the company he was working for was helping along the way. I knew then that it didnt seem right and thankfully did not join those who we are now bailing out.
For the past month i have been scared to turn on the news because it seemed like every time i watched it there was worse news.
Last night i watched obamas speech to Congress and for the first time i actually felt hopeful that this budget could be a good stepping stone to getting us on the right path.
I then turned on MSNBC and watched Countdown, followed by Rachel Maddow. i am no longer scared to turn on the news or shows on politics. This budget has the makings to bring our government to more moral standpoint and really has the makings to prove that the government works for the people, and not for corrupt CEOs.
Remember people this budget still needs to go through congress and the senate for approval. Which I HOPE they keep it free and clear of any little bull shit lobbyists and add ons.

Please tell me how Clinton made banks grant loans to people. He has nothing to do with it. I work for the regulator of credit unions and I deal with the financial institutions everyday. No places were "forced" to make loans by Clinton and neither party has anything to do with the mortgage crisis. Banks and credit unions develope their own underwriting criteria and the Clinton administration had no control over the loans being granted by them. The real problem with the mortgage crisis was that values were going up so quick that banks were being a little more relaxed with their underwriting criteria since they wouldn't have to worry about losing money. If they were to foreclose, they would have been able to make money on the properties instead of discount them heavily to get rid of them.

The reason the FHLB even exists is to buy loans from financial institution so they would be able to continue lending to qualified members. Institutions get money for originating and servicing the loan, get the ability to make more loans, increase their liquidity and not have as much interest rate risk.

You gotta open your eyes kid. I'm not going to sit here and tell you none of this would have happened if it weren't for Clinton, but to say he isn't part of the reason we're totally fucked now is a little too much.
The Community Reinvestment Act. Clinton signed it, Bush failed to fix it, and the mortgage companies took advantage of it by grabbing everything they could get while they could get it. I worked for a mortgage company for a time and underwriting standards basically went from shitty to non existent.

It wasn't tax cuts for the rich.
It wasn't tax cuts for the poor.
It was tax cuts for every tax payer
