Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
You seem to forget the memory this car has left me....blowing blue smoke, clutch went, rebuild, oil line blew on the way back from rock falls, etc.
Not blaming anyone but myself, but I don't want something embarassing like that happen again. I have no means to get it home that far away. Don't be hatin though. I'll make it to the dyno day. :D |
Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX

Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
Got the j pipe for it, and she moves under her own power now! Still have to do some clutch adjusting, but already the clutch feels so much better with the new parts. The only thing holding me up now is money again. lol
Here's a pic of the engine bay currently: http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02255.JPG I also installed a factory 1g eclipse spoiler I've had sitting around since last year. I also sanded it down and painted it black last year. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02251.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02254.JPG I still have to get a few things: -Set of 20 lugnuts for a 2g -New Sparkplug Wires -Do a good boost leak test -Tranny is leaking gear oil, so I'll have to do something about that -Clutch still grabs right off the floor. I think it has to do with the adjustment -Bolt down the battery better -Replace the left front steering ball joint Money is just real tough to come by at the moment. I just keep telling myself this is a hobby, work on it when I can afford it. EDIT: Really dumb question, but does anyone have a spare clutch master cylinder cap? I fuckin lost mine and it's driving me crazy. |

Got the wheels on, fixed 90% of boost leaks. Theres still a very slow leak at the tb, anybody have any suggestions? Come monday, I'll put insurance on it and get new 08 tags. Then she becomes the daily driver. :) |
Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
Do you have the battery located in the back?
|

Looks good that way :) |
Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
Hey the tb is pretty common to have a boost leak. If it's not really bad I wouldn't worry about it. I know you can hear a slow leak on mine as well.

Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
Thanks. It pulls pretty nice now. I haven't really ran it up through the gears, but plan to with the logger come monday.
Edit: Post number 666 motherfuckers. |
Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
Took it out yesterday for a long drive to work out any bugs. All was good up untill I got on it, started getting wheel hop and then the car just stopped. Fuel pump is working, I can hear fuel flowing through the fuel rail. Got compression. Timing is okay. I checked every single connection in the engine bay and everything seems to be good.
What it does is the engine will turn over, but it doesn't even try to fire. Once of the fuses in the fuse block that bolts to the battery terminal is fucked so I gotta do something about that. So embarassing. |
Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
Any check engine codes? Maybe a connector came loose during the shaking from your wheel hop.
|
Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
Figured it out. It's the seperate part of the engine harness that branches off by the fuel filter and goes to the a/c condensor and to the brake master cylinder fluid holder (lol, spelling>me). I checked all the connectors to see if they all get 12 volts, which they did. Then I looked behind the engine where it was, moved it up out of the way, and tried it. She starts right up, a little rich of course.
I guess that's dsming. :) I just got home from trying it out, and during the decent rain we're having right now. She runs perfect, no missing, cutting out, etc. Hopefully it's a nice day tomorrow so I can get some more gas in it and drive it some more. |
