Re: My restoration of a 2g GSX
So with the borg warner, that's gonna have that BEP exhaust housing on it right?

Re: My restoration of a 2g GSX
Yep. Halon on here I think was looking for info on them a while back. He had a pretty good sized post on here about them as well as on the link forums. There are quite a few posts on tuners about them as well.

Re: My restoration of a 2g GSX
I do too. Tom at ETS left ETS the day I put in my order and forgot to put in that it was supposed to be anodized so I had to send it back to them and just gt it back in time for the car to be too cold to work on.

It's pretty obvious to me now you're a fan of red + black

Re: My restoration of a 2g GSX
Front mount is mounted, not much left of the stock front bumper either. Car itself is under the knife. I hope to have it out on the street by wednesday at the latest. We'll see how that goes, 4 projects do for school in the next week so it is a pretty big hope at the moment. I will try and get some pics as well.

Re: My restoration of a 2g GSX
Well, I took quite a long time off from working on this thing. It runs. Sort of. Has a pretty bad boost leak. Been working on sealing up EVERY possibility from that front. Couldn't get it to hold a lb of pressure. Redoing all the gaskets and injector seals as well as a FIAV block off plate. Hopefully should seal it all up. Hope to have all that done this weekend and possibly get Ryan to bring over his compressor this weekend and get rid of all the boost leaks once and for all. If that happens I need to pick up a new battery and start saving for a tune. And put the interior back together. We shall see. Still skeptical. Most of the parts in this thread are still relevant. Although I am just going to run the Evo III 16g for a while once it is actually running. Would rather spend turbo money on getting the body cleaned up and repainted.

Re: My restoration of a 2g GSX
Let me know when you are available man. I will get the compressor over.

Re: My restoration of a 2g GSX
Did you ever get the black dash in it
|
Re: My restoration of a 2g GSX
Not yet. That is the last of the things I am worrying about right now. I want to do that and the carpet all at the same time. But getting it running properly is top priority. Got pissed off at it and haven't touched it for a good year to year and a half. Did get all the pieces to make the whole interior black and need to tear out the headliner to make re-cover it and make it black as well though.

Re: My restoration of a 2g GSX
This car looks uber sweet! Man i like how everyone or most people that have projects going on are focusing on visual things as well really nice!

Re: My restoration of a 2g GSX
Well, started the car for the first time in about a year and half today. Fired right up. Can't get it to rev past 4.5k. Has some idle surge issues as well I need to sort out. Ryan brought over his compressor. Found one boost leak, leaks pressure slowly out now but can't find any others. Kind of annoying. Charge piping is all good. Throttle body is all good as are the injector seals.
