Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
The ef2 is nice and flat. I would rock the ef2 if I owned a evo. That car makes alot of power on pump gas with the mods that are done to it. Surprised you havent had any problems with the car. Unlike everybody up here

Nothing wrong with my stock clutch, still holding strong at 53k miles, but the opportunity had come up to do more clutch testing for Competition Clutch; I tested their Stage 3 segmented Kelvar on my IX. This one is their Stage 2 full-face organic sprung disc with their new HD Street 3,000 lb. pressure plate which should remain very smooth for DD use.

They put the diaphragm springs on backwards! :)

Stupid pull-style...

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
Besides for some routine annual maintenance before the Texas All-State cruise this coming weekend, I was able able to add a few fun new upgrades!
MR 2-piece front brake rotors: http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/.../IMAG04971.jpg MR BBS wheels: http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/IMAG0498.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/IMAG0499.jpg The wheels came already mounted with some barely used Nitto NeoGen tires; I'm not all too impressed with them, but I may just leave them on for now since they were basically free. They're a high-performance all-season tire and you definitely realize the A/S portion when you push them hard in a corner. They howl very loudly, but at least they break-away in a smooth and controller fashion. I was going to install the new Girodisc S/S "Orange" pads along with the rotors, but my current StopTechs still had enough meat left where I decided to reuse them. |
Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
Looking good! I love those wheels!
|
Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
If anyone cares, between the wheels and rotors, I shaved off about 20 pounds of rotational mass.
|
Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
20 pounds hot damn!
Nice work sir! |
Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
Titties! Looking forward to seeing this thing again. I haven't driven a X yet ya know ;)

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
You're more than welcome to drive it on Friday :)

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
Giggity!

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
Nice pickup on the rims and 2 piece rotors!
I am closing in on 40k miles and am guessing I will need some new rotors soon, but I think I will go with the girodisc ones. Just curious if you don't mind sharing, what do the MR ones go for? |
Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
I got them for free and paid $15/ea to get them turned at O'Reilly! Normally they sell for quite a bit, but a guy here was convinced they were junk after 30k miles (one set of factory brake pads). After turning they still measure well within minimum thickness spec.

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
Love the weight loss! and free ftw!

Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
Even if the friction rings were worn out, you can buy replacement rings for about half the cost of a new set!
|
Re: GheyrodX - bigger, fatter, gheyer!
Awesome, always nice to get free upgrades. Notice any difference in how the car feels from the lost weight? New wheels look good too, my favorite style of wheel.
