Re: Evo X upgrades
Let's see, maf is 36% bigger so drop maf scaling by about that much, injectors are double, so 2x scaling + the new injector latency fix and use the supplied (?) latencies, then put in psi-boost hack w/ zero CF, fire up the car, cross fingers and go baby go!
Just kidding, it's a little more involved than that. I will be very interested to see how the psi-based boost control works out for ya on the street! |

30-32...sigh...lomker you wuss.
Have I taught you nothing..you need at least 34 psi to make the torque of a 4g63, you don't want to look stupid do you :) Ps. I am excited to see what this setup has in it finally... After months of waiting we will know if the BBX has motor breaking potential in it :) |
Re: Evo X upgrades
What do you mean by PSI based boost control? That doesn't make sense to me as PSI = boost. Do you mean RPM boost control? Sorry I'm a newb I guess.

The best analogy I've heard is that it will behave like an ECU-adjusted MBC afterward. http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/sho...893#post522893 |
Re: Evo X upgrades
^Once properly setup that's the idea! Load-based systems work, but they are error prone and thus inconsistent. The biggest saving grace on the X is that it has a low gear range and high gear range have separate base wasgtegate duty cycle (WGDC) tables, which in helps a LOT in the real world.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Gotcha, now it makes more sense.

Well, back to work. The intake scaled fairly decent. Now on to switching the injectors and trying to get the 2200s to behave. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
Sweet, now you will have some MAF scalings for my car :)
Let us know how the injectors work out :) |

Updates?? Are you at work still Lomker or at DB for the tune...if I get no answer I assume you are at DB :)

Re: Evo X upgrades
My fueling problems continue. 20psi drop in pressure at 7k rpms. Shane is going to check the voltage to the Bosch and I suppose the inline fuel filter should be checked.
The Mitsu gods don't love me. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
Geez...why do they hate you so???? Did you anger them? Are you sure you aren't running out of pump, no idea how much that one is supposed to flow.

I may just have to live with this power level until next year. I could save over the Winter for a fuel cell and just take another step toward hard core. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
DO it.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Have you replaced the stock black fuel pump relay with an updated blue one?
|
Re: Evo X upgrades
He has the green one, at least he did, maybe he got the blue ones now like I did though :)
|
Re: Evo X upgrades
One local down here had a green fail too.

I swapped fuel pump relays around multiple times with no change. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
I had the green relays and then swapped them all for blue. Nothing is that simple for me.
Full Blown left the second in-tank pump in there but it doesn't need to be with this setup. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
obviously i dont know, but what about a 255 feeding a 044 inline or 255 inline?

Technically only one of the in-tanks should be needed to fill the surge tank but it was installed so I just left it there. I don't have the funds to do very much right now. I have an afpr that needs a fitting or two for installation. I would be willing to try a BAP on the Bosch if that had any chance of helping. The problem is that if the pump isn't getting fuel then making it run faster or doing the afpr won't fix it. |

Re: Evo X upgrades
DB discovered that my fuel filter was dirty. Holiday E85 ftw. I had gone from a gigantic UR filter that was noisy to the small Jegs/Russell inline filter that BlaqOPs provides. I should probably find a better middle ground.
Could I get that lucky? We'll find out later today. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
Sooo, updates, did it work?
|
Re: Evo X upgrades
Shane hasn't worked his 14 hour day just yet. I did order a Golan fuel filter, tho.

The irony is that fuel cells aren't all that expensive. For the money that I have into the Full Blown setup I could have had one and ditched the stock tank altogether. http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a.../ATL171110.jpg http://atlfuelcells.carshopinc.com/p...d/96189/171110 |

Re: Evo X upgrades
Cleaning the fuel filter helped a little but not enough to matter. I guess the next round of shooting in the dark will be afpr, BAP, and a larger fuel filter.
|
Re: Evo X upgrades
God, i hope i don't have these fueling issues, I don't think i will, but who knows.
Sucks man, i feel for ya. |
