My gf just laughs a little bit if she hasn't been in the car for a while and I do a 2nd through 4th pull. Its kinda like that roller coaster feeling

Oh, i thought we were talking about something different.

Yeah, its good when they giggle in teh car, my lady gets a smile on her face like something good is gonna happen.
So far though she is the only girl i know that gets mad if she misses a race.

When I was in TX, she said she misses the car esp. after I would go out on the weekends with it and tell her.

As long as I don't go to jail/get a ticket or something breaks she is down.
Her butt dyno is good too, she knows how weak the car is at 25psi compared to 28psi and even remembers 35psi

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Well I have been talking to another national forum guy who is waiting for his black as well. He said he has talked with Robert and we are the only two getting the black right now. He will be doing a 2.3L stroker for his X though. He said he has gotten a few turbo's from FP for his X and it is always six weeks. So it will be close for my tune date, first friday in August, taking a long weekend, like a Friday/Monday off so I can drive the car and have fun with it.

If in two weeks FP still has no parts I will probably take Lomker up on his stock turbo offer and toss that onto my car for the breakin tune and shoot for all the stocker can make with probably 28psi and a shit load of timing.

So anyway up for a turbo swap party if I do that? I really don't want to pay for the swap so if I can convince you guys with Beer/booze I will seriously consider the stock turbo route for break in :)

Not quite sure what parts absolutely have to be replaced for a turbo swap. I think the lines use crush washers. Not sure about gaskets. One of those things I've been meaning to research.

I am pretty sure you can reuse all the gaskets from the old turbo. I was under the impression most stuff was reusable if not everything.

Don't reuse crush-washers, oil drain gaskets, or the turbo compressor outlet elbow gasket.

We'll have to break out that service manual, or ask Shane.

Don't bother, he's right :) Just replace those things and you're golden.

Sorry, I forgot...I've only done turbos swaps in real life before rather than reading/posting about it on national forums ;) It's really not difficult guys. You can reuse the large steel gaskets (head/manifold, manifold/turbo, turbo/o2 housing) but everything else you're going to want new. Why? Gaskets are made to seal. How do they seal? They squish.

It may come to that :)

In which case I am taking it to MAP after it breaks in a bit and going to get it running right on their dyno hitting the right load etc and go for the record! Assuming Mike is ok with all this, it would be his paperweight...i mean turbo.
