My hopes came true, plus some. I'll be replacing them at about 35k miles which is 25k miles on this set of tires. They're getting replaced with Sumitomo HTR Z III's.

Any specific reason you are going back to the Sumi's? I know you had them on your IX.

Cheaper price than the Hankooks. It's like a $30-$40 difference in price. Back when I was deciding between both those tires, they were about $8 apart with the Sumi's being cheaper. So I went with the Sumi's. Now it seems like they are in higher demand so the price has shot up to like $180 as opposed to the $130 for the Sumi's.

Exactly. When I bought this set of Hankooks they were only $1/tire more than the Sumis, but now that they're $43/tire more it's just not worth it. They're better tires, but not that much better. I was hoping Hankook would throw a $100/set rebate on them, then I would have gotten them again, but no such luck.

Sounds good, yeah thats alot extra per tire.

Summis aren't all season are they?

I have never really looked at tires so I am a tire nub.

They have an All Season tire (HTR A/S P01) in addition to the Max Performance Summer HTR Z III.

Ah, I am guessing those have a decent wear rating if Kracka is planning 25k on them. I am thinking my star specs will be toast after this summer. (prolly less thank 15k miles)

Keep in mind that I didn't choose the correct wheel size. :P

The Hankook's wear rating is 280, the Sumitomo's is 300. Keep in mind that just like sizing, every manufacturer rates the wear rating differently so you really can't accurately cross-brand compare.

GheyrodX is heading up to Cobb this afternoon for new tires, a fresh alignment, and a Whiteline roll center kit.

Let me know if you think the RCK is worth it. I am sure it is but just curious if people feel it at all.

It's cool that Cobb does alignments too, one stop shop.

They've been doing alignments for quite a while. They just recently got a tire mounting/balancing machine. NOW it's a one stop shop. :D

The WRX got delayed yesterday (tires, alignment, coolant) so I actually dropped my car off this afternoon and will get it back tomorrow.

My Flickr set of their grand reopening. Pictures of the shop towards the end. I did sort of a 360. :)

It's huge! That's maybe about 1/4 of the shop space, you can't see a few lifts, the alignment rack, dyno, etc. Also not picture are the parts rooms, engine building room, offices, and showroom.
