Lol ya but it will pay off in the end. In also replacing the stock clutch with an act 6 puck sprung disk kit.

Re: Chris's Evo

Sounds good!

I'm doing a lot of running around tomorrow with going to MAP for my head studs, clutch and dropping off my turbo to be taken care of. Then its off to RS for to drop off my head studs and then to the transmission shop to drop off my oil cooler for a thorough cleaning and I'm going to ask them to keep whatever comes out of it just to see what would have been in there. I don't think there will be much if anything in there but just to be safe.

That is unreal! Good luck man!

Any carnage pics yet?

GsXtUrBo98 10-05-2012 10:49 AM

Re: Chris's Evo

There wasn't really any carnage.. Just the bent trigger plate that was making my spun bearing noise.. Ron said the rod bearings were starting to spin anyways so it's good that I took it out. I guess the previous owner starved it of oil at some point..

If the gasket is the same as a dsm SEARCH my thread for the part number of a water outlet gasket I used that is the perfect match.

So far so good! No issues. Knocks on wood :)

GsXtUrBo98 10-19-2012 11:30 PM

Re: Chris's Evo

I put over 50 miles on it today with no issues and babying the hell out of it besides the vac pulls that I did.

I got oil to do my first oil change at 100 miles! I'm also going to be picking up some evo 9 gsr wheels with some winter tires!

P.S yes at this point I'm going to drive my evo in the winter...

I put 125 miles on the car and went to do my oil change and the tcase fill plug had fallen out! I ordered a new one and that should be here on thursday. I also picked up a set of evo 9 gsr wheels with michelin xice 2 tires on them from Ron today!

Re: Chris's Evo

haha. Well I got the car back on the road yesterday and its way different. When I originally got my car together I it was VERY hard to drive and I thought that the new ACT 6 puck sprung disc was the problem and I hated it.... Anyways after getting fluid back in the t case and back on the road everything was perfect and the car drives like a dream!! so excited to finish breakin on this thing!!
