Re: Project S14 240sx
This kinda makes me want to keep the 240 I have!
Just do a KA-T, don't bother with swaps :) I think you can get those Z32 TT brakes for kinda cheap |
Re: Project S14 240sx
I found an E-brake assembly on Ebay last night for $20 so I bought that, and I'll be picking up an LC-1 wideband for it soon. Gonna start tackling the wiring here in a little while.

Re: Project S14 240sx
Got a glimpse if this beast tonight, looking good! I *cannot* believe that you already raised the suspension, it still looks slammed!
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
We didn't raise the back, just the front about an inch. But yeah, the rear tires are still tucked up into the 1/4 panels.
Today I got the speedometer wiring figured out, but I think there's supposed to be a resistor or something in there cuz it reads twice as fast as I'm actually going. Leaving Old Chicago tonight I was about 3/4 down the entrance ramp to 494 and all the sudden the thing fell on it's face. The speedo pegged out at 120 and I hit the speed limiter even though I was actually only going 60 mph. Gonna have to look into that more to figure out what's up. |
Re: Project S14 240sx
Woo hoo! New e-brake handle just showed up! Another stupid dorifto mod checked off the list.
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
very nice
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
yeah your car sparked going down the on ramp.
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
it did it over here to and had a nice blue flame
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
Wait, what??
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
Hahaha prolly the exhaust scraping?
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
yep looked like the last flange likes to scrape the ground over bumps and sparks nicely.
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
I know the resonator/rear flange likes to drag and make sparks, but what is Mark talking about a blue flame?
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
Got my Mille Miglia wheels installed today, the car looks much better now. I had to leave the spacers on there since the front alignment is fucked, tires were hitting the coilovers. But the tires sit nice and flush so I don't think I'll change it since they're bolt on spacers. I didn't take any pics cuz the thing is fucking dirty right now, but I'll try to get some in the next few days.
Hopefully I'll be getting the e-brake handle installed tomorrow, and my 5 speed ecu should be showing up any day now. |
Re: Project S14 240sx
Cant wait to see the pics!
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
What kind of Mille Miglia?
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
Ev-s

Re: Project S14 240sx
I got the new e-brake handle installed yesterday, it's so nice to have a functioning e-brake. Also got the 5 speed ecu installed, but it didn't help the speedo problem, so I'm probably gonna have to source an engine harness.
In the last two days I spent way too much money though... Yesterday I bought an S15 helical LSD to replace the welded diff that's in the car now. That was $540 shipped, but it came with brand new output shafts so it was worth it. I had also been looking at putting a JDM spoiler on it and had planned on getting a white one from ebay, but while looking around, I found a carbon fiber replica of the spoiler I wanted that was a little cheaper, so I bought that this morning. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...OC:MOTORS:1123 |
Re: Project S14 240sx
nice. ever think about putting on the jdm side skirts?
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
Yeah, I'll probably pick up the JDM sideskirts and the rear bumper eventually
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
Well the blower motor for the heat decided to eat it's face and the rest of the box along with it, so that's one more thing to add to the repair list. Upon taking it out, half the bolts and screws were missing, so I'm guessing dorifto boy took it out, then just kinda tossed it back in and only put enough screws in it to keep it from falling back out.
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
What kind of motor do you want to put in it?
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
2JZ noooshyytt!!!
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
I'm gonna leave the KA24 in it for now, I've got a GT3076R sitting next to me waiting to go on it. If the KA ever blows I'll look into either an RB25 swap or some kind of Nissan/Mitsu bastard child creation (4g64)
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
NO RB!!God damnit dude..soo much $$$!!
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
Lsx+procharger ftw
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
They're only like, $2500 to $2700 for a complete longblock/harness/ecu/transmission. I'd probably be around the $2k mark after building a 4g64, sourcing a bellhousing and transmission, and getting it wired in.

Re: Project S14 240sx
Sucky man, 6 cyl or more is my vote.

carbon ftw
did you get it for the price you offered for it |
Re: Project S14 240sx
Yup, they accepted the $350 offer on the wing. I just got an email saying that the LSD shipped out today via UPS.

Re: Project S14 240sx
very nice

Re: Project S14 240sx
So I found a heater box on Ebay, that should be here soon. Also, I won a set of 30mm 300zx brake calipers. There's a bracket that allows the use of the 350z track rotors (12.76") for around $50. If I was to stay with the 300zx rotor (11") they would just bolt right on, but that extra 1.76" of diameter is hard to pass up. Stock rotors are a measly 10 inches with single piston calipers, so either way it's an upgrade.

Re: Project S14 240sx
Just pulled the trigger on a Megan Type-2 catback. I'm sick of this HKS dragging over every single little thing.
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
no more 4in cat back. I want first dibs on the hks cat back :)
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
Nice, that type-2 looks nice and clean.
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
Got your brakes ordered and the redline fluids as well.
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
kevin you are going to spend all the cash you sold the talon for pretty quick :)
|
Re: Project S14 240sx
Haha it's only been a week and I'm already $2k in... Gotta slow down a little.
