Re: The new setup for spring!
Long time update but after pulling my car out of storage I saved up and got my car tuned by shane! Made 392awhp and 333 trq. at about 30psi!
Shane said that my fuel wasnt staying stable up at high boost. Everytime we turned up the boost and added fuel I went leaner.. Then I remembered that I never rewired my fuel pump!!!!! This is a must before brainerd! and a retune. Also, shane pointed out that where my stock intake manifold dropped off a nice JMF intake might do the trick;). We'll see whats in store for the eclipse in the next few months. Also, Got some HID's from primo a month or two ago and just installed them yesterday and they look very sexy! |
Re: The new setup for spring!
Almost forgot! I also purchased some 17X8 Rota torques +35 from Matt D and put them on the car and look pretty good too. Just need some tires.... Not sure on the size Theough. They stick out a little bit and I dont konw if I want a P235/45R17 or a P235/40R17 to be more safe with hitting the fender... Although I could always just roll the fenders.... I think I'm going to ponder this a little bit more.

This is the video of the car on the dyno and shane working his magic! video isn't that great but gets the job done.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLuGO...eature=channel Well it did work.. I'll have to mess with it more. |
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
WHere are the dyno numbers from your sig from?
|
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
O oops! That's my first tune from map... with the corrections shane gave me it was 460 at map on this new tune. Approx.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Big thanks to Schiedes for the title change!

video's been removed. looks good though man. how did that happen to the rear bumper?
|
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
^ I bought it like that then my friends drunk/high girlfriend desided to leave and backed into my car at an angle and did more damage...
" I wasn't high " dont do that. Just so you guys know. |
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Well at least it matches your wheel color and give it a unique look.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Looks nice, why did u upgrade from the scm61? at 392whp you werent really close to maxing it.
|
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
I wanted a turbo that would take me to my goal power levels.. I know you like the quicker spooling turbos but I think that this being ball bearing and all with better flow from the other new supporting mods it will spool simular to the journal bearing and provide more power up top
|
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Awesome! When is this all going together? Gonna get it on the dyno and tuned once its all sorted?
|
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
It will be put together once I get the will power to go outside and get it done... hopefully in about a month. And yes it will be tuned by shane!

You going for 500? My taste in turbos? 35r on 2.0s are too big that full boost after 5krpm doesn't sounds good to me, but I do love watching big turbo cars fly. :woohoo1: |

I will go until shane says to stop or I run out of fuel wich will prob. be around 500hp.. |
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
^Sick. I can't wait to see a lot of these cars this summer.
I just realized you and brad will have matching cars and be making about the same power. hahahahaha (evil laugh) |
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Lol ya didn't even think about this! But I don't plan on beating brad... I want to make at least one goal lol
|
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
BB SCM61 Spool and Power FTW :)

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
^Ya ya..

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Dropped off my tial wg at primo for coating on that and the 02 dump. Also, got my new fittings in from primo and swapped onto my ss fuel lines. Just have to mount the fpr on the fire wall and bolt it up so I can tighten down the smim and continue the build.

Suppose I could post this up on my own thread aswell. This was done by primo as a before when I got it from halon and then when I picked it up. Kinda funny its on the same chair at primo for both shots lol didn't try to do it.. But I think it turned out very well. I will be having the rest of my stuff ceramic coated through them aswell. :score010:

First, I mounted the front mount after cutting out the radiator support so it will fit with the worlds smallest compressor! took forever.
Next, I installed the manifold and turbo. Then ran into a problem with one of the studs being too long!! Map built the head and put in different length's and they said it didn't leak so just kept it the way it was. Which was fine until now..... Anyways here's some pictures of the progress. |
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
That sucks about the manifold, at least once you get it all figured out it won't be too bad.
Is that the only one that hits? If so I'd just take the manifold off, thread a nut on the stud all the way to the head, stuff rags into exhaust ports, cut a little bit off the stud, back nut off and repeat until you get the right length. |
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Good work! Should be an easy fix. Also are you still using the 90 from he stock intercooler kit, that bolts into the throttle body? It was kinda janky and caused me some boost leaks so I switched to a N/T throttle body. Did you weld the bov flange to the upper intercooler pipe? or did they not cross thread on ya?
|

I have a N/A throttle body but was planing on using the stock one for the time being... if it causes me problems then away it goes. I just rebuilt the 2g tb so I'm kinda sunk on it but in the end maybe I will just throw on the N/A.... Also, I am running a tial bov so I had the flange welded on from them. |
