Mark definitely overdrove the conditions on inappropriate tires, damaged his wheels, and got sympathy. I hypothetically overdrove the conditions, kept my car under control, and took shit for it. Go fucking figure.

Today I was driving up north on the freeway. After about an hour my windshield wipers flipped up/down once by themselves. I thought, 'weird!' ...oh well....then all of a sudden they turned on the low setting. They would not turn off, regardless of the position of the control stick. They would however go to high speed. WTF! I ended up pulling the fuse :(

Yeah, Evos are shit. I'm glad I have a DSM, its soooooooo much more reliable!

And I beg to differ on the AW-stop. All the wheels do stop... but the car as a whole keeps on going!

I know wtf! I put the fuse in last night and drove out to my parent's place, the wipers acted a little odd but they don't go nonstop anymore! Hopefully this just goes away....(riiiight....)

Welcome to mid winter on style. Just wait till January when people actually become a-holes and we all stop talking for a few months till the spring dyno day :D

I can deal with people being assholes, no problem. The issue I have is when the only person everyone's being an asshole to is me for extended periods of time.

2 things for me today. I drove my car to my parent's house this morning and all was well. My car sat there all day, then at 9 when I tried to leave, my lock was frozen, and my door was frozen shut for no appearant reason. Then on the way home, one of my headlights burned out. Hooray!

Re: Cold weather issues?

Repaired my buddies car that we crashed on saturday. $75 to get a corner lense, headlight assembly, and hood. Not bad, good ol u-pull hooked us up. Also learned that my fist can easily go through a saturn window...lol (dont flip it was getting crushed).

Sounds like some "pranksters" poured some water on you're door so that it'd freeze up! haha
Not too many problems here, other than I tried to wash my car today. I thought it'd be warm enough in my garage but once I coated the whole thing with soapy water it froze over. So I was out in the garage for a good 2 hours with a hair dryer!

This is not my week. Blew out the freeze plug on the evo's water pump. This is the second time this has happend. First one was on the OEM pump, this one I got at o'reily's...maybe they'll warranty it for me?

:( On xmas too......

SnoEclipse 12-25-2008 10:31 PM

Re: Cold weather issues?

If you dress all of your door and hatch seals with a decent silicone they generally won't freeze up during winter car washes.

Jeez Scheides! You are almost having as much issues with your EVO as I did with my Talon. Good luck :(

I'm suprised you Evo guys aren't putting a little JB Weld on the plugs for good measure.

scheides 12-26-2008 03:18 PM

Re: Cold weather issues?

$.70 frost / freeze plug for the water pump (35mm, cupped) left my car undriveable. A local parts store had one, popped right in and then a little jbweld for good measure. Uber dumb.

Re: Cold weather issues?

fantastic! Water pump freeze plug blew out again today!

I took the liberty of smashing a new one in there with my BFH, quite a bit further (although a bit askew) than the last one. It's drying out now, then it's getting a fukin smoov and thick pile of JBWeld. If it pops out again, I will pop.

Kevin 1G Drummer 12-31-2008 06:16 PM
