Authority in these cases are awful. When they do things like confiscating your car for a court date. That is unexceptible unless it was dwi related. No need for that. So far I have not had run ins with law about my car. I have had nightmares. I respect them. I almost got a dwi 2 years ago. I hired the most expensive lawyer and got out of it and the cop did not show for court date. I still lost because I could not drive until court date, no license, and I payed allot of money. My fault this happend even though I was at the wrong place at wrong time. I beleive in the case of cop going to store to warn management not to sell jammers was stupid. Why dont they go to the source (corp.). Why are they even waisting time with petty thing like this, we need them to protect against real crime. My opinion. Another opinion I have is there needs to be less pressure for cops to reach their quotta and randomly pull people over for speeding tickets. Agian I respect them, I would not want to be in the line of fire like they are and they should be payed more for what they do, but where is the money. Anyways it has got to be a tough job for them.

Wow. I can't believe some of the stuff you guys have gone through. I try to avoid police as much as possible by just never breaking the law. Sounds wierd but it works. I only speed if its rush hour and I'm in a big group of cars. Otherwise I'm in the right lane doing the speed limit. I always come to a complete stop at stop signs and do all that other good driver stuff. Its real hard at first but after a while it just becomes second nature.
I also have never been in an accident, the insurance companies scare the crap outta me. They say its "no fault" but we all know that the fault is shifted to the youngest person involved regardless of proof or the situation. |
Unfortunately "not breaking the law" just doesnt cut it. Especially in burnsville, but i've had trouble in hopkins and other areas.
I was on my way home from work one night at 3am, going down 169 at the speed limit with no other traffic in sight to speak of. A state highway patrol decided to ride my ass about 3 ft off my bumper with his brights on for a good 5 or 6 miles. I was driving in hopkins on 169 in the beater that I had just bought when 2 cars went by me going 65+. There was a cop on the side of the road with a radar gun, so he pulled out to go after them. Saw me and apparently said "fuckit, wouldnt want to chase down those speeders lets see what we have here". pulls me over and the convorsation goes a little like this: "Do you know why I pulled you over?" "No" "You really dont know why?" "I have no idea" "Are you SURE you dont know why I pulled you over?" "I'm sure" "well your tabs are expired" Bought my tabs that day, and hadnt put them on yet. Im SURE he was able to see that from the side of 169, his radar gun in hand, clocking the two cars passing me. The BEST experience I have ever had with a cop believe it or not was when he actually gave me a ticket. I WAS breaking the law, going too fast. He was a nice guy and treated me respectfully. Thats one good experience, 6 bad. Yeah, I'm a little biased against em. |
I've been pulled over 3 times on the scooter....twice by the fags of New Hope for never a good reason; it was about 45 minutes apart too, thats the funny thing. First time was for "terrorizing the neighborhoods". I was doing 25 mph on a residential road making my way home. Second time was for not having my headlight on, funny thing is the headlight was on. Oh well. Third time was by a Maple Grove cop asking where I got it cuz his kid wants one (this was yesterday).

Hell these days you don't even have to leave your house to a moving violation.
When Alex (jenny's brother lived at my house) he got a Mazda Miata from his Father who happened to live in Florida. so the plates were from Florida, The Title never got transfered so Alex couldn't get Tabs or a new license plate he had to wait on his father. Well needless to say Hatch descided to send the cops by like usual (cause he used to do that once a week. Until his daughters little mishap in IL) - and Alex recieved a ticket for Expired Tabs, Failure to switch to MN plates (can't remember the real name for that), and the cops said I"m being easy on you. I could toe your car since technically it's not registured which means it might as well be a stolen vehicle. Talk about BS. - his car was parked at the bottom of my driveway at the time. |
