Re: manifold advice?
^Yea I still think I'ma stick with the evoIII or a 2g mani and have it port matched to my head.
|
Re: manifold advice?
You dont port match exhaust manifolds. Read up a bit on the subject.
|
Re: manifold advice?
I'm not talking about porting all the runners the same length. I know that the middle two are usually a little larger if I remember right. I'm talking about matching the ports/runners with the head.

Re: manifold advice?
Yes, and i am telling you that is a bad idea!
|
Re: manifold advice?
^Ok I'll continue looking... There are a ton of threads about porting the head, but not many talk about matching or not matching the head to the exhaust mani. They mention the intake mani but not the exhaust side
if you know why it's bad lmk. I'm lookin to learn here |

The lip acts as a reversion dam.
|
Re: manifold advice?
I think you mean an anti-reversion dam. I guess I read his post a little wrong. The exhaust manifold should be gasket matched, it isn't possible to port match it, since it is already bigger than the head outlet.

Re: manifold advice?
The "anti" is implied. It is a dam after all.
Why dont they call flak jackets anti-flak jackets? ;) |
Re: manifold advice?
Ok so the exhaust mani is larger than the head because that way exhaust hits the step up or lip or w/e after it enters the mani and keeps from creeping back into the head? makes sence
