Jake contacted me today through e-mail acting like nothing was wrong and that he needs my head to be sent to complete the job.

I'll keep an update on the situation.

Jake has contacted me twice in the last week via email. The first one said that I need to send my head so he can complete the job and he never once brought up why he hasn't been in contact for two months. I replied with i'm not sending my $1500 to you after this. I told him that can he please send my short block with all the parts for the 6-bolt swap. He replied that we had a deal and that he is looking forward to me sending the head. I replied that I don't want him to put the head on and time it any more I want him to do less work for the same amount of money. I've not heard from him for 4 days.

Your doing the right thing it sounds like. I texted his gf the other day and she told me I'd get my injectors with time. They are probably just going through some rough times and hopefully it'll all get worked out eventually. keep us posted man. Why dont you tell him to just call you

I have asked him to call me several times. I have also tried to cal him. I don't even want him to finish the job I just want him to send me all my stuff, and have all tis crap over with.

this is rediculous, he thinks if he emails us once every two months or something we'll forget about it or something? I don't know what is going through his head but he seriously needs to get his act together before someone flips out from him pulling this bs on them and finally takes action.

Well one reason was that on all of the dsm forums he had nothing but good things said about his work. Come to find out later there were people that had bad things to say about his work but the forums would not allow those posts. So I blame the "other" dsm sites for this as well. You are right about there being other shops out there. If I could do it over I would have done that. The reason I tried this out was because Jake doesn't charge hourly just a flat rate. At shops it would have been twice the price.

I would also like to say that your comments are childish. In no way were you trying to help us with that comment.

Actually i have heard some of jakes prices on stuff and some shops around here would of charged the same price, at times a little less.

Either way, good luck to you all in getting your money and possessions back.

+2. I agree with my brother on this one. Stop complaining about it on a fucking internet message board, and get the authorities involved. Even if they don't need to physically do something, it will put some more pressure on him, and hopefully push him into at least contacting everyone and working it out. And even still if he STILL doesn't do that, someone can step in and help you guys do something... If I were involved in the situation, I deffinatley wouldn't just be calling him a bunch, and complaining to his g/f about it all. Just my .02 though. Good Luck

Well I'd like to think I'm not a dumbass. I'd also like to think that I'm not viewed as a dumbass for helping a friend with a business. Jake gave me some pretty good deals that I know don't compare to shop prices because I made sure to call everywhere first. Also, the main reason I bought stuff from jake instead of the shops is because jake would give me advice and help me out with questions I had. Shit I could have gotten my injectors from map for $10 more but instead I bought them from Jake to try and help him with his business just a little bit. So the main reason I helped Jake out was because he was more of a friend than just another guy to buy stuff from. Unfortunatly, he got himself into something he must not be able to handle. I guess this just goes to show you cant trust everybody

Me, Brian, and Eric have contacted the police on more than one occasion. They keep saying that they can't get involved because it's a civil matter. Eric is the only one who can really get the police involved since Jake has his car. I don't think Eric wants to go that route though.

well maybe map and lse should tell me they match price. Because when I had jake do work for me I was told specifically by one of the shops that they would charge X amount and no lower. It's also really nice to know how much something will cost instead of a price quote that's within $100 of something. And if it's used parts I'm getting idc because they all come in brand new boxes and look and perform like brand new parts :) And yea I've already said he betrayed me and our friendship is well not so much of a friendship anymore unfortunatly.

It wasnt the best idea for people to give their shit to him, but you coming up in here adding insult to injury isnt doing anything to help the situation. the police will not get into because they have other tings going on. You have to get ahold of the local sheriff they will get it done.
I had a guy try to rip me off in Tx the local cops would not do a thing so I called the sheriff and had my money back the next day.

Ok sweet I just called the sheriff and finally talked to a nice guy. He told me to send jake a letter and request a conformation. Also make a copy of everything. In the letter write that he has 10 days to refund the money or send the parts. After that 10 days if you don't hear back from him go to the police. I'll do this this weekend.

For you that would like to know, the number for the winona sheriff dept is 507-457-6368. I was just passed on to an investigator and he told me to send the letter and go from there.

Went by the shop tonight and didn't see anything. His red talon was parked outside like it always is, aloong with his S10. There was a white grand am again and an older jeep cherokee.

The garage was closed though, so I didn't see anything real helpfull. Sorry guys.
