I hope he sells it right away now, cause I don't think he deserves it anymore.
Not necessarily, I am going to come to Matt's defense here and say that he has come to too many conclusions too quickly. Just give him a chance ;)

I think jakey is right, I just started making assumptions about the car too soon.

The whole bringing it home from my trip I was happy thinking o got a good deal.

The first thing I did was open the box for the head, It wasn't the same head as described at all. I sent him and e-mail and within like 15min. he responded on it. Okay thats 1 thing not a huge deal.

Next morring I unload the car. First thing i do was pop the hood and the trans was sitting on the cross member and the rest of the engine weight was resting AC compressor. I know this was kinda my fault for not seeing the engine mount wasn't there but i only looked under the 1 time and I didn't catch it cause i was more concerned about other things.

So then I start looking through the boxes inspecting the parts and noticed many small things wrong like the throttle body was there but was missing the TPS and BISS. not a big deal at all. but then I look at the MAF and its from a 95 galant, I’ve never hear of anyone putting a galant maf on a dsm but I’m guessing there the same. But just many small things like individually they are all very small but when you start adding all of them up it starts to look like a bunch of miss-matched parts.

Then I start looking closer and finding sensors and a bunch of small stuff that weren't there coil pack, thermostat, that kinda stuff so I send him a e-mail on the parts.

Then I go look through the inside and found a paper that has the warranty work done to it(i'm guessing this is the time when theft was done to it) Tranny work was done to the 3rd and 4th gear at 26k I don't story behind it but i look at it in the worst way wondering why the heck did tranny work need to be done at only 26k and that the car must have been beat to hell to have tranny work done at 26k.

So after all that I come on this site and start reading about how happy he was to get rid of the car. So after a couple of days of waiting he still hasn't responded to my e-mail about the missing parts. Naturally with all of the above I start to come to the conclusion that he ripped me off and theres probley a lower end or tranny problem since he raced it. So i get upset and kinda take it out on the board. Like I said I'm sorry and shouldn't have did it.

Anyways he has since responed and i don't regret buying it.

BTW don't plan the car being for sale any time soon

what gave you the idea that i was going to sell it anyways :brownnoser:

It's a DSM and a FWD one at that.

dsmstunna 01-03-2004 08:07 PM

but still at 26k out of the factory? i don't thing mitsu could have kept putting a tranny in a car for around 5 years if it was normal for it to need major repair at 26k. o well its fixed now, i don't want to make a bid deal about how the tranny broke since its fixed now. and its really not that big of a deal to me

Jana 01-03-2004 09:18 PM

If it's not a big deal, and you don't regret it...then shut up about, k? :D

dsmstunna 01-03-2004 10:03 PM

:blah: :blah: hey i'll shut up when everyone else shuts up, k? :blah: :blah:

AJ 01-03-2004 10:05 PM

Actually you will shut up now about this or go somewhere else and bitch. You got a smoking deal on the car for the price you paid. Look at the good side of things. Or sell it.

Really I'm not bitching about it, it may have seemed like that at first i guess. Really this is between me and Nash too. I already said I shouldn't have posted that in the first place. Lock this tread for all I care. I'm just defending myself from your own comments.

dsmstunna 01-03-2004 11:00 PM

Just one more point to, you don't know the sacrifice I made based on my income either to buy this car. I may have got a totally killer deal. But I honestly put in the very highest offer I could on this car based on what I was getting and what I wasn’t getting. I have a sheet with all the expenses to get this car running too. I figured out the very max I could pay for it then I subtracted the missing parts, taxes, hauling expenses that crap than gave him the price. A couple hundred dollars worth of parts that weren’t factored in to the original price is huge for me. I’m not trying to bitch or complain about anything thats just the truth of the situation I’m in.

Dead serious being 16 I pretty much gave up about everything I worked for in my life to this car. I'm just starting my first accuall part time job at menards on monday for a wopping $6 an hour before expences :D

Matt D. 01-03-2004 11:16 PM

I'm 25, work at fucking Target and am building a 1g AWD Talon that came with less parts (and more broken ones) than your car. I know your pain, but it'll be worth it in the end. Any and every DSMer has been or will be in some sort of situation similar to ours at one point in time. You've just chosen yours to happen very quickly.

john 01-03-2004 11:20 PM

We all get buyers remorse after buying a dsm. I wish I would have bought a complete pile of shit car instead of spending what I did on mine. If you plan on modding it, it is definitly cheaper in the long run.

I would have been mad if I were in dsmstunna's position. How much did he get it for?

1g's needing work are a hell of alot cheaper than a 99 GS-T needing work. Target also pays more than $6/hr.

A//// Guy 01-03-2004 11:26 PM

Sorry but i have to chime in on this... If I were in your case I would have never even looked at that car. If you dont have money to even fix the car then why would you buy a half put together car and try and rebuiuld it with no money... I did that exact same thing, it was great because my parents helped me out and paid for some of the parts to get it it running. That was 2+ years ago and I have dropped a heck of alot of money into it on top of the rebuild. This was after I got a good job and got out of school (HS). So I would say either sell it, or keep it and fix it up, if dont have funds wait to get a dsm.
...whatever....

I must chime in.

He knew that going in, and if not, now he does... that's what research is for.

Alrite, just shut the hell up and quit bitchin'. The deal is done and over with. If you wanna keep the damn car, fix it. If you don't, sell it. Plain and simple. You didn't get ripped off nor have a right to be mad OR even posting stupid shit like this. You knew what you were getting yourself into when buying this car, you now have it, get to fuckin' work and get started on shit, it's obviously not gonna happen overnight and posting shit up isn't gonna get you any further. Yay that you now have a job, work for your shit now as everyone else should have to do.

Your fault. Mostly everyone knows to factor in unexpected costs. And you maybe trying to tell us the situation you're in, but the fact of the matter is, No one gives a shit.

john 01-03-2004 11:52 PM

BTW, 95 galant MAS is the same as a 2g MAS.

Enough already with the bashing and bitching or I'll lock it down

You should lock it now as nothing has to do with Nash being happy about selling his car. This whole thread has turned into one big argument.

Jana 01-04-2004 12:09 AM

Everybody has said enough so I'm closing it down.

AJ 01-04-2004 02:04 AM
