Re: Wheel spin developed recently in all gears except 5th

Remember what section this is in? RK your going to have to get away from the computer long enough to try a few things. Posting ten new tech threads a day isn't going to help you. The problem you are describing is probably something simple or its all in your head.

Maybe your clutch is slipping? Why don't have somebody that has atleast some clue about cars drive your car. I am sure the answer is a simple one.

DSMs don't fix themselves, drop the keyboard and let go of the mouse, then pick up a wrench. You will find that they really not that complicated, its already fucked up, whats the worst that can happen?

I wouldn't think so, that should reduce wheel spin instead of increase it. ;)

It's not the clutch buddy. I've blown clutches before and I know when they start slipping.
By the way, the problem isn't in my head just because the clicking sound went away. Facts don't change just because you think it's in my head. The wheels (front) still sound like they're slipping just a wee bit the sound is pretty real. I'm driving fine though and there is no problem driving. I'm just scared that something'll break off when I'm doing 90.

ARE you guys putting me on????
I was under the car for half an hour and didn't find anything that looked like a valve. I also checked the vfaqs, dsmtalk, buschur and tuners - NOTHING pertains to a flamidation valve or has a pic. I even did a search on Google and NOTHING came up.
What does the flamidation valve look like? Size?

I'll see if I can have my parents take a picture of mine on my Laser. My dad was helping me yesterday when I took mine off and checked it over.

Well if you read your thread title there genius you say spinning in all gears except 5th. There is no fucking way in hell you are spinning your tires in 4th gear and probably not in 3rd either. Thats why I said its in your head.

Like I said, your going to have to pick up a wrench and check it out. Pull the tranny and see what you find. The problem is too vague to diagnose from a computer. That would be like calling an IS help desk because you have a rash on your cock. Its not going to help, eventually it will bug you enough and you will have to treat it on your own.

PS. Sell your car.

They put a little black rubber cap over it. Did you think they were going to have a valve floating in the breeze so a rock could get stuck in it?

Correct me if I'm wrong JET but aren't there (2) 13mm bolts which hold the valve on? The rubber cap can be popped off my a small screwdriver.

That was the 90's, the later ones you just take the rubber cap off, push in the retaining pin and use a 2.5mm allen wrench to unscrew the valve. You need to make sure the tranny is in reverse and the clutch is pushed in. I put a 2x4 between the clutch pedal and the seat to hold the clutch down.

I wish I would have known that yesterday! I took the entire valve assembly off to simply check the valve adjustment.

This is soo interesting, I dont think I had a problem like this on my old gsx...

BTW RK take it somewhere like the Mitsu dealer or LSE and have them look at it because you have no idea what your doing and wont be able to fix much... like you said on the phone when I was talking to you a couple days ago...

If I get a pic and decent instructions I can do it. I was hoping there would be a Vfaq about this, but I found none. I agree with Craig - I better get down to learning this. I'll be swapping a tranny and a ported head later this winter and I better catch on fast, starting now. I hate not knowing stuff which I think I should know.
But its a good suggestion, since all I've done before are belts, brakes and some exhaust. BTW, do I know you? I don't remember talking to you.

Tranny and Transfer case had 100k miles on them when pulled. 1250 miles before I sold it to you.
