yeah, the other thing is that maybe he's got a thing like cadillacs where the needles go all the way over then back to 0 before the begin reading. :)

You are Mr. responsible. I was refering to the other thread about street racing, and you ringing people out. It wasn't an insult, so don't take it so seriously.

awesome enes, haha, what road....i mean....what part of antarctica did you do this pull on?

Hey nicely done there Enes!!!

Hey Enes,
You are a funny guy. LOL. That picture is total BS. First of all, your boost gauge should be pegged. You covered your butt on the oil pressure. Your temp gauge should be at least half way up. On top of that, there is no freaking way a DSM can go that fast. The gearing for 5th gear, might allow about 150-160mph. ~maybe~ That would even be pushing it. This picture was obviously taken in Enes's garage last night. The car isn't even running. He probably taped the needles or pulled them off and set them in those spots. Enes, you have way too much free time. Good effort though. ;) later, Curt |
My gauge cluster is in complete tact, never taken apart..
my temp gauge has always been that way plus its been taken at an angle.. comon curt. you know what dsmlink can do! taken off www.dsmlink.com Gauge display Allows the user to change what gets displayed on the factory "boost" gauge. Common selections include coolant temp, idle control, O2 sensors, etc. next time i will take a damn video so people beleive me damn you dsm hatas.. -E |
I will have a camera strapped to my chest so that you can see the damn needles go when i get it up that high.. damn you unbeleivers..
i might get killed tonight but i will prove you wrong.. -E |
Enes' So that's why you asked yesterday about my top end runs,
I see your RPMS/MPH is just past where I said another DSMR's where when he did 168mph. And for those that don't think a DSM can do 160mph. Here a clip of a car that has the same interior as mine but..... isn't my car ;) ..... hitting 160mph.... This was the camera person's first time running the camera so it's bouncy, and would have come out better if they hadn't zoomed in. Also this clip was taken off a TV cause I guess that person couldn't down load the video to the net from ther camcorder. Anyrate if you want a clear shot of 160mph mark, pause the video at 3 seconds into the clip and slowly move it forward till it hits 4 seconds or till the 160mph is clear as day. Also the other video's from that side look like my old car but aren't - I just happened to find these videos on the net about 4 years ago someplace. But I can't remember where I found them. ;) I also heard this guy did a run to 168mph just prior to this 160mph run but didn't get it on tape as it was just a spontainious thing he did and after that fact he wanted to do it again but get it on tape. But at 160mph noticed his temp gauge was pegged. So he backed off. |
thx barton...

How accurate is a DSM speedo? Use GPS or it doesn't count. ;)

Whoa... The BS is getting so thick now I can bearly walk through it. Time to get the knee high boots on. In Brian's little video, you can plainly see where the temp gauge should be:
http://www.mn3s.org/barton160.jpg I also find it ironic that Enes boost gauge is in the exact postion it would be in if the car was at idle. And come-on, do you think anyone going 180mph in any car would be able to get that clear and centered picture of there gauge cluster. I've gone 165mph in a Stealth before. Its damn scary and very bouncy. If someone can find me the gear ratios for a 2g FWD turbo, we can put Enes little practical joke to rest. It is funny though. later, Curt |
thats the thing.. with 225/18/40 the spedo is off by probably 3% or something..

I'd believe enes
The motorcycle dude is nutz or he has some big ones i dont know |
BS
According to this calculator http://www.volkswagen.org/tiresize.htm and your tire size, along with 2G turbo FWD final drive and 5th gear ratio according to vfaq.com, you should have been doing 184 mph at 7600 RPM. pWn3d there is no way you have enough power to hit 184, much less the time to do it. |
calculate it at 7500 since i moved my rev limiter to 7500 ;)
-E |
181 mph
