The new setup I am working on will be a custom spec'd Lunati camshaft from Rick Crawford. Also the setup will include Rick's ported and milled heads.

That's some funny stuff, my father-in-law is Rick Crawford :P Not the same one though.

Went out last night to do some logging for my tuner. Car feels strong and I can't wait to get this NA monster tuned and running a full capacity!

You getting it tuned before you go racing?

Re: Knoxville's Heads 'n Cam Swap Build Thread

It's already 95% tuned, but my tuner will be at the track as well. He is from NC and we normally tune remotely via HP tuners with wideband integration.

If you have issues with the cam cover again, those bolts on the cam cover are "torx plus" type. It is basically a redesigned torx bit that has rounded corners and can handle more applied torque (in theory). It is a GM thing I guess, and ATI dampers use them as well. I had to buy one from snap on for my ATI, but Lisle tools makes a set now, which can be ordered at any parts store. Great progress so far, I bet it will be a really fun all around car!

Good work sir, new setup and tires are doing work! Now time to spray :)

Re: Knoxville's Heads 'n Cam Swap Build Thread

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm really enjoying the new setup, and very pleased with how it performed at the track.

I think with proper track prep and a better 60' this car will go faster.

It was really nice to be able to spend some one on one time with my tuner since he is from NC. Just having him drive my car in person reassures me that its running proper.

Not quite sold on the spray idea yet...
