Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF
I'm going to give my home owners a shot next. I appreciate the advice, these situations suck! I started the cabinets this weekend, the are turning out awesome so far. Having the right tools is key. http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...818_111536.jpg

Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF
So regarding all the hail damage the trailer received in early August. I received some good news today from my insurance company.
The short story: They are now fully covering the damage!!!!!!!!! The long story: Originally my auto insurance company was denying any support in the claim of the trailer. So I contacted my home owners insurance and they were willing to cover a minimal amount of the trailer damage, $1K. However, I needed a letter of denial from my auto insurance to receive incidental coverage from my home owners policy. To receive a letter from my auto insurance I needed to file a claim, in the mean time I insured the trailer for comp and collision(super cheap too!), once I learned that it was only covered under liability of the towing vehicle. My insurance company contacted me 2 weeks ago for a taped conversation about what I was trying to do, get a letter of denial so I started a claim knowing that I insured the trailer after the incident so it would be covered under my home owners. I called today to ping them on where my letter of denial was, the agent said there was a change in plans. I got the electrical all wrapped up too: lights, outlets and bulkhead connector. I also finished the cabinet too. I'll take a couple of snap shots soon. Trailer FTW! |

Nice!!

Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF
That's awesome news. So can they pop the dents out, or do they have to install all new panels?
|
Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF
That news is awesome!
|
Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF
Yeah, that is great news! Can they do PDR on trailers? You might keep someone busy for a while :D

Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF
Kick ass! in for pics also

Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF
Your trailer is looking great! Glad to hear insurance covered the damage. Usually you don't hear good stories about insurance.
We have a similar race trailer for our motorsports team. We were cautioned about the toolbox up in the v-nose because the temptation is great to add "just one more tool" to the collection and make the tongue weight horribly heavy for the tow vehicle. Keep up the good work! |
Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF
Looks awesome!

Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF
The insurance result was awesome, they totaled it and I purchased it back for salvage value. Worked out great for me!
Next steps on the trailer is that I’m going to put a spot in it for my welder. I have had 3 different weld failures at the track in the last 3 years. Now I will have a welder for the track! |
Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF
That is freaking sweet dude! Welder at the track...epic.

Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF

Re: The DSM/Evo Trailer Build...WTF
Hey mark, I just bought a new enclosed trailer, wondering how your floor coating is holding up?
