Everything I have read says that it will last 3 to 4 years, and up to 3 years it still can be removed fairly easily. Anything more than that it will still come off, but it takes a little more effort. Nothing I've read said that it will never come off.

Just what I've heard from people that have been using the stuff for a while that's all. Specifically wheels which will see heat fluctuations more than say a hood or fender or door would.

If is left on for a day... Does it hurt anything? Like the paint underneath is just fine, no prep needed other than just a good wash?

Re: Plasti-Dipped the Mitsu

It does not hurt the paint under it. Just a good wash with simple green and it is good to go.
Works over paint,Bondo,bare metal
Does not work well over primer.

Im going to be doing this next week or so as well ill take pictures as well. Im in love with the product and confident enough to try it on a larger surface now....my roof rack and wheels as well as wipers are holding up perfect. I am curious as well as how to a whole paint Job holds up...

I talked to him a couple of days ago and he says it is still perfect. I'm thinking of doing this to my car.

I know i will for sure be doing my Honda civic Red Dip...i say just go for it...maybe get the white dip since your vehicle already is white? It looks really nice. Im picking Red because my car is red and well looks pretty good ...My honda civic has the same color theme going on...except for i think im going to dip my hood and trunk black....(For that Carbon fiber look :spin:JK)

Oh....why not? It peels right of ....atleast is suppose to.....maybe after a few more good projects appear youll consider it ha. I just always really liked the flat paint color look. Yet within flat colors there was a specific texture i always wanted or looked for and plasti dip is the perfect way to describe the look...hmmm

Re: Plasti-Dipped the Mitsu

The Plasti-Dip is holding up great. I only have two problem areas - one where there is rust underneath (I sprayed right over the rust and its bubbling), and a small nick from a door ding I got two days after I sprayed it.

I took this picture today. Yes, its dirty. Since I sprayed it, I've only rinsed it with water once. Salt, snow, ice, rocks... nothing has been able to destroy it.

So cool!

Re: Plasti-Dipped the Mitsu

That looks so good, but I think it is only nice on certain vehicles. I think generally longer looking vehicles, like my civic would look like butthole, but this is (borat) very nice. :borat:

Re: Plasti-Dipped the Mitsu

Hows it hold up against bugs? Think it'd still hold up if you washed it a lot? I kind of want to paint a piece or two on my bike but i'd be afraid of all the bugs messing up the finish

Re: Plasti-Dipped the Mitsu

I have not taken my car through a normal car wash since I sprayed it. I know one guy local that sprayed his roof and he has taken it through a few car washes with no problems.

There was a guy on tuners that did a spare fender and power washed it point blank over 12 times with out it pealing off the fender.
