Re: Back at it
Got the test drive done last night. Changed the oil today and buttoned her up!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...g/IMG_1101.jpg Thanks to my wife Christa who put in a couple 8+ hour days and a 13 hour day with me! The car runs awesome and I'm glad I know exactly what's going on with it now. I've touched just about every bolt in the car and have fixed most of what I didn't like. I didn't re-ring the motor even though the gaps are HUGE because I didn't want to have the block machined (more money, etc.) I have a T3 GT3582R on the way that should be here tomorrow. I'm debating on whether I want to run this ERL and CRAPPY o2 housing / down pipe configuration. It took me quite a while to get the o2 / dp connected since the flange for it is about 1/2" away from the v-band. Hopefully we'll make it to the track Sunday and have fun getting kicked out! :spin: |
Re: Back at it
Nice job on getting it back on the road so quick! Enjoy it

Re: Back at it
Thanks guys. I picked up my 35R yesterday and the first thing I thought was, "Man, this thing is tiny!" The last turbo I ran that was around this size was a scm61 - about six years ago.
So this should be fun, I'm anxious to have an insta-spool monster. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...g/photo-19.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...g/photo-20.jpg I also went out and did my first [dozen] pull today. Very exciting until oil sprayed out of my dipstick. I will be buying a real catch can soon. |
Re: Back at it
If its too small, ill take it ;). Pretty much the same turbo I would like to run, but with a .82 a/r in some vband hawtness. You got the bigger 1.06 right? Was that divided or undivided? Can't remember :(

Re: Back at it
Yeah I have the 1.06 open. I'm pretty much expecting to have to change exhaust housings, but would like to see what it does. If I do switch housings, I'll switch manifolds also and go twin scroll with both.

Re: Back at it
Just got back home from dinner after Rockfalls.
I thought it was a test n tune day at RF so my wife and I drove out there at noon. We got there around two to find out it was a money / trophy race day. I talked to Jennifer and she pointed me to Allan, the owner. He actually let me sneak in three runs for $40 which I thought was awesome. Anyway, I ended up running like crap for my three runs. The 1st run I couldn't find 2nd and shut down after 1st. The 2nd run I bogged the launch. And third I turned up the anti-lag enrichment to 10% instead of 5% and NLTS'd 2-3 and 3-4. Second was still rough to get into, but at least I got to race. I was still on 24psi but running 10.5ish:1 afrs because I was too lazy to tune it on the way. I ended up running 12.88 @114 on the last run. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/d...ge_2298813.htm I will be getting Poly mounts, skater bearings, bolting the shifter directly to the floor and getting a real tune on it before heading back, hopefully in two weeks. |
