I was reading too that AMS/Buschur put in the Heavy Shock proof oil in both their t-case and diff. I'm still unsure I guess, I would get the diaqueen but I'm sure no one within 60 miles of me has some.

I intend to run the tranny cocktail and shockproof in my car next year. It's on my Spring to-do list.

Jacks transmissions recommends it and I like those guys.

Who has diaqueen? I might be coming that way in the next 2 days. I need to coordinate with some members here first.

Brookdale would have to. I wouldn't be surprised if RS and DB also had some on-hand. MAP has it on their website so they might stock it.

A lot of people run the Redline Heavyduty in the t-case. I have some Diaqueen LSD, but it's just in big cans for working on cars in the shop. You can usually pick some up at the dealer.

Re: 311evo's ev-oh

I think I'll just go with the redline for now, I already have their cocktail in my tranny and love it. It's going to be about the only thing I can pick up locally besides Amsoil.

I'm supposed to be meeting up with Jrohner on sat afternoon, so if you need me to taxi something out to you I can, but this would need u to trust my DSM not breaking in the next couple of days.

Where will you be meeting up with him?

I'm sure his place, but I have to check.

So, after more thinking and investigating, I'm 95% sure my t-case is on its way out.

Once the death whine has started, you can't really stop it. awesome

Winter is the funnest part of the year with these cars.

It's prolly going to sit for a while. Maybe I'll go to the casino and make some magic happen.

Re: 311evo's ev-oh

Yay, an update!

..about how unhappy I am.

So I had my T-case rebuilt by MAP (great job, good service, I'm sure it's an excellent T-case). Judging by the whining and how the car acted it seemed the t-case was the clear culprit. Sadly, this was not the case and I've somewhat wasted a good amount of money. Not really "wasted" because having a new beefed up t-case is never bad, but in this case was completely unnecessary.

I'm not sure where to go from here, the rear diff maybe, but it doesn't have any usual signs of that going out (no binding, the sound doesn't change with turning, etc.). Could something in the drive-shaft or an axle be causing this?

I'm SO god damn excited to find a bad bearing somewhere that costs $50 to fix.. uhg. Totally flustered, silly me to think I could call the shot on a problem like that.

well, at least you have a good t-case. hopefully it is what it is though man. Hate to see an Evo like yours put down man!

Re: 311evo's ev-oh

Its ok man, start with the easy stuff, you're doing the right thing. Rear diff you should clearly be able to hear behind you/back of the car....have you wobbled the driveshaft to see if there's any play in it? twist it back and forth..mattd's made a clinking noise.

Re: 311evo's ev-oh

Shitty! Hopefully you figure it out soon, you've had enough down time recently.

Re: 311evo's ev-oh

I'm pretty sure my rear diff whines and is what makes the rattling noise under decel. It definitely got louder when I put the rear diff bushings in.

Re: 311evo's ev-oh

This is why I'm holding off on mine, I want to be sure. Whine's gotten slowly worse over time, loudest around 60-65, but $1500's a big chunk of change.

Do you have or could you take a video of the noise?

You guys are scaring me, maybe I should get a built t-case with my next tranny.
