Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics
I want my 80.00 for the tach or the tach back. I have built so many engines and I do know what I am doing. How the hell do I know what you did to it after you drove it out of the drive way. And the turbo never came apart it came from a style member and was put on the car. You are still a young kid that does not know much about a modded car and don't start on ice he drilled holes in is engine to vent the crank case

Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics
Drilled A Hole Into His Engine!!? LOL Its hard to admit mistakes, but we learn so much more if we are humble and let the senior members teach us! Pay up the cash deal is a deal. Plus why would TKR give you something that on purpose is broken. . . ? look at his rep he is a good guy that KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!
Better get chimms wheel back trust me he dosnt play around when it comes to his wheels lol! |

Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics
Ok, wait. How the hell does RTV get sucked through the screen for the pickup tube? Let alone a piece big enough to clog an oil port? One more thing. A clogged oil squirter will not choke off enough oil to send a rod through the block. All the oil squirters do is spray oil at the bottom of the pistons to cool them off a little. They don't do anything for lubrication of moving parts.

Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics
additionally, if in fact your engine was starved for oil, wouldn't that cause the turbo to wear really quickly? The turbo was probably fine when he installed it.

Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics
Jesus fucking Christ can we be done with the drama over this? Calm the fuck down and quit pointing fingers. Jake, you're the one who put 1000 miles on the car on the break-in oil, not Mark. It realistically doesn't matter if he or anyone plugged up the oil squirters that effectively do nothing anyway, you pretty much sealed the deal sooner or later on that motor by running it with all the assembly crap mixed in there for 500 miles past what the engine builder (or anyone, for that matter) recommended. If you'd gotten that motor from a reputable shop, they'd be telling you to fuck off as well, you didn't follow the explicit instructions that were given.
I trusted Mark multiple times with my Talon, and I'd gladly trust him with my Evo. The truth is, he's only human, and humans can and inevitably will make mistakes, just like the mistake you made that fucked up your engine. Sure the experience left a bad taste in your mouth, you gotta wash it out and keep fucking eating. Car's obviously done, so [/thread] |
Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics
Twitch, don't be sour because you blew your motor up. I didn't bitch and point fingers when my transmission went out. Shit happens to modded cars. Deal with it and quit bitching or GTFO.

Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics
fwiw iceminion is not high on my list right now, he's not returning my PM's either. I think everyone's busy right now and should man up and stop waving fingers and fix their shit, get it driveable, end of story!

Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics
I have seen personally RTV in rod oiling holes and other areas of engine lubrication areas where it shouldn't have been, so I believe it's possible.
I have heard a lot of negative things about this Twitch guy, but who is to say that mark didn't build a shitty engine? Sounds like you bought this car with a freshly built engine with under 1000 miles on it. I would never trust anyone enough to buy a car with an engine with so little miles on it. You have no idea if it was assembled correctly, broke in properly, etc. Even if this kid maintained the engine better, broke it in better, still could have failed regardless, we'll never know. |
Re: Mitsubishi Mirage Pics
You took a chance when buying a swapped car with a freshly built engine in it. Buying a used car, especially an older modified one, is "buyer beware" and frankly you were in way above your head. You know nothing about these cars and it would have been a much smarter idea to just buy a nice stock 1G (as everyone told you to do). There is also no reason you couldn't have gotten an inspection done prior to purchasing the car.
If Chim doesn't have his wheel back or Mark his tach (or appropriate payment) within the next month you'll be gone for good. I'm really getting sick of your posts, you've already been warned about bashing members; if you have a problem with someone then make a feedback thread in the appropriate section with honest information posted in a mature manner. When you're back, if you play by the rules, I may consider unlocking this thread. |
