So I believe I have finally figured out the reason as to the cars hard running and starting issues. Bad injector for one, but when I went to swap them out, I see no body had any of those 3 black plastic spacers that go between the fuel rail and the head. Some body just straight torqued the rail down and just about screwed half of the injector seals. Also, the bolt farthest to the passenger side broke off inside the head probably due to bottoming out. So I would like to try and extract that today. If I can't, I don't think it will be a huge issue as it seems solid with 2 bolts. We'll see.
I put some other what I think are 450's in and it runs very smooth now but acts like it has a huge boost leak. I should be able to figure it all out at school today. :sport017: |

Received a couple parts for the Talon today. Non cruise throttle cable from Jack's Transmission, and a stainless steel clutch line off ebay. They'll be installed monday along with some good 450's for a change.

The knock sensor seems to be picking up a lot of exterior noises such as exhaust sheilds and shit. When I sit and free rev it it picks up 29 counts some times. Still daily driving the thing to work and school. Replaced the fuel pump today with the evo 9 pump I received from scheides. All the studs were broke so we busted out the sheet metal screws to hold it down in true winter beater fashion. lol
With taxes on their way in about a week, I'm tore between just putting the money aside for later or do the timing belt components, water pump, valve seals and other small things. I for sure know I'm going to do a full turbo back exhaust. I guess my thinking is if this motor smashes the valves I can then focus on getting the good parts and motor transferred from my Laser. Still thinking about it. I do like the 91 as a daily driver, I'd like to keep it that way instead of stripping it down. |

Twack came down Saturday night with a propane heater and an equalizer for the engine hoist I borrowed from a friend and we got to work. Pulled the motor out of my Laser:

Had a slow start to the morning today, but we were out there wrenchin' at about 12:30. I usually put a jack up under the outer tie rod end so it keeps pressure on it. That usually works for me. As far as the rotor have you tried hitting the hat with a decent sized hammer? Just try not to hit the wheel studs.
