I did a 2nd gear pull with the wife in the car tonight after meeting with everyone and merging into traffic. She got sick, just on the pump gas tune. Doh! She needs more practice :D

Heh not quite that bad, but her stomach got pretty upset. I'm guessing the fact that she ate a grilled cheese, onion rings, and mt dew @ wagner's had *nothing* to do with it ;)

Out of curiosity, how long did it take for them to tune it? I want to tune my 2.4 Talon but I want a rough estimate on how much it would cost.
Btw is this on the stock turbo? |

Considering you're using a different tuning platform, IDK how this would really translate, but it seems to me that if you can focus on not being in a rush and just let shane do his job he can knock one out in anywhere from 2-3 hours. It all depends on the car and what issues have to be dealt with before tuning can begin, or what is discovered while it is being tuned. I never have and never will question how much it costs for a good tune; when the car comes off the rollers it feels like a million bucks so if it cost me $100 or $800 to get there I'd be happy. Best thing to do is just call up shane and talk it over with him, and basically ask him what all you can do before you go. This will include having the car running, idling, and cruising on whatever fuel you plan on getting tuned on, all systems and sensors operating correctly, boost leak test DONE and all leaks fixed, etc. Getting a good tune is as much up to you having your car running right as it is up to the tuner to take what he has and make power with it.
Hope that helps, short answer is that shane never seems to charge people enough for what they get, so whatever he charges bring an extra $50 and stick it in his pocket or leave it on his desk because it is 110% worth every penny. No, not the stock turbo. It is a stock turbo with custom compressor and turbine wheels made by Chad Block Racing Development (CBRD Speed Factory). |

I put together these ROUGH overlays from August 2008 to June 2009 on my car.
Pump gas: http://www.scheides.com/albums/evo-m...rlay.sized.jpg Alky: http://www.scheides.com/albums/evo-m...rlay.sized.jpg Major changes: -Basic port job on IX turbo to full port job on CBRD BBK Full -stock head to MAP stg3 ported head -HKS 280 cams on stock springs to Kelford 272 cams on GSC 5039 beehive springs -500cc of denatured alcohol (49% meth, 49%ethanol) to 950cc of 50/50 meth/water -Buschur Deluxe FMIC to Buschur Race FMIC w/ custom LICP -NOTE: on IX turbo I had boost onset slightly delayed because of some freaknasty compressor surge I had on spool-up. I'm not doing this on the BBK. The IX turbo could def spool ~350rpm sooner on the same setup on my car. On some IX's tuners have been able to get the BBK to spool identical to the IX turbo...with my caviots, I have basically achieved this, but with a huge asterisk. On alky, the car is up like 100whp @ 7400rpm, just freaknasty! on pump, its up 80whp @ 7400rpm. |

Well you and jim made me do it. I have a Stock long block shipping out to me. I dont know if I will run the fp red or the bbk full, I will have all winter to decide. Im going to decide on what cams I will be getting, I was thinking the kelford 272's. I do have a built head with the kelford 280's I could swap out. I guess we will see.
