They are one in the same. Check the thread about it in the parking lot (I'd link but I'm on my phone)

Wow, those are damn good times for a stock appearing turbo!

Ported IM and TB in my opinion is the best bang for your buck. Anyways I will look at some HTA3076 graphs and see how it compares to this FP red. If there isn't much difference then I wish the HTA3076 good luck.

Brandon, here's the Indy/Wilson Manifolds v2 manifold (that buschur tested), about a month ago:
http://mitsustyle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19835

Also, here's a pic of the turbine wheel (mentioned above). Kinda cool it has a FP logo on it :)

stikx, the HTA3076 is still gonna make a little more power up top, but its gonna spool later and be about twice as expensive. More info on a hta3076 test HERE. The HTA3076 is definitly a FP3065 killer, but the fp red might just be a HTA3076 killer (for evo 6/7/8/9 guys anyways).

I think you're right on the ported IM/TB being the best bang/buck. A $75 port job and you get 7-10whp all over, not bad. The Indy/WM v0 will be ~$500, If that produces decent gains up top w/o sacrificing much or any spool down low, it would be 'the next step' for someone like me, after going to the red or some other big turbo. I'm damn happy with mine as it is though!

Re: FP RED for evo 8 & 9

I kind of figured, the fp red would kill the 3076 hta market due to the red being cheaper and a bolt on turbo. Now I want to see the tq curve on a 2.3 :D.

Friday night the car mentioned in the original post went out for some shake-down runs. Best pass was 10.45@134mph, with a lift somewhere in 4th gear due to the car in the right lane swerving.

So like 390awhp on a Dyno Dynamics, if that's an AWD Dynojet and not running in FWD.

+1. 390 @26psi sounds like DSM 50-trim numbers. I'd have thought the numbers would be a bit more for an Evo Red.

Re: FP RED for evo 8 & 9

Look at the long list of stock and unported stuff guys. As seen on my car, it all adds up. 390whp on a super mild tune (the guy has no knock control on that ECU!) at 26psi could easily be 430whp on a more aggressive tune at 29psi.

And personally, I don't know a ton of DSM's with 50-trims making more than ~300whp, 400whp is more average 61mm territory, and the numbers there seem few and far between.

Who knows, someone local needs to buy one and see what it does. It will depend entirely on the car, its setup, and the tune done on it. Either way, how can anyone say that ~400whp on a stock appearing turbo is weak, lame, ghey, or otherwise? Seriously?

Re: FP RED for evo 8 & 9

No knock control is more common than having knock control. You stock ECU Evo/DSM guys are just spoiled. :)

How about a 16G DSM making 360awhp? Or 16G Evos making 360-380awhp?

Sorry Chris, just giving you shit. I dunno why they would run that stock air intake pipe and a WORKS O2 housing, those are probably hurting it a decent amount.

Here comes Scheides to save the day! One hand firmly gripped on Buschur's nuts, the other on FP's. ;)

All of this bench racing is getting old. Seriously.

Totally unrelated to this thread, but my opinion of FP drops by the day.

See, so there's MORE power to be had, all this little stuff adds up!

Haha I only grab my own nuts thank you, if Blouche and English Racing (or AMS or whomever) would do something like this I'd post about it too, making power turbocharged cars that's what this site is all about! And driving circles around your opponents, but I don't need a FP RED (or to hang onto anyone's nuts) to do that with you matty! I have done it already :)

MattD, order a FP WHITE, it's perfect for you!

His mod aren't that different then mine when I made 366 on my horse-shit tune at LSE on my bolt on 50trim. I did have a ghetto intake pipe held together with safety wire, and my homemade IC piping, other than that pretty similar.

366 or 266? Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong day.

Re: FP RED for evo 8 & 9

366, it was at the dyno day. We took it for a couple spins the night before and the morning of to get the AFR's somewhat decent. That was the extent of the tune on that day.
