Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
As of right now it has Intrax lowering springs, kyb agx front shocks I think, and stock rears. I gotta get new shocks some time soon.
I'm having a hell of a time getting the turbo apart from the exhaust manifold. I also can't get the exhaust housing to seperate from the compressor side. I think I need to heat it up. |

Maybe there are a few companies making them now and yours will be ok for a while but it is a known fact that when these knockoffs came out they were garbage. |
Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
Decided to do some tucking tonight. Here's how far I got:
http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02170.JPG Got the turbine housing seperated and there's one stubborn stud that's stuck in there. It'll be a bitch getting it out: http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02174.JPG Pile of parts, just for fun: http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02171.JPG Here's my MOMO wheel: http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02172.JPG |

Tucked the fuse box down where the battery goes since I'm putting the battery in the rear: http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02175.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02176.JPG I still have to do a few more things before I can consider the re-routing of the harness done. I have to extend the maf plug and the passenger side pop-up motor along with actually securing the harness to the car. The resister for the rear defroster, can I remove that completely? It's the black one that's near the wiper motor stock. Also, for those of you running your battery in the rear, can I see the way you did your setup? I think I'm going to put the fuse block to the terminal in the back and just extend those wires up front along with a thick gauge power cable for everything else. |
Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
Few updates fromt his weekend. Got a new battery and mounted it in the rear, put in the new clutch master cylinder, and replaced the old moldy heater hoses with new ones. I also got twack's old tan leather seats, so I swapped mounted and slapped those in last night.
Sorry for the shitty camera, but here's some pics: http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02177.JPG The guy before me was the one who welded in that plate with bolts sticking up. He used that to bolt down his sub box. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02178.JPG I might dye these seats black or dark grey. Does anyone know a good shop that does interior work like that? http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02179.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02180.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DCP02181.JPG Basically now I'm mostly waiting on a good 14b. Still have to extend a couple plugs on the harness, put in the fuel pump, and finish up the fmic. |

Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
I'll have to stop by this weekend and see how it's all coming along. I'm taking out the fence and laying crushed rock this saturday if you would want to come help. Finally, a spot for my car...lol. Oh, and my counter weighted knob came in the mail on Monday, it's sexy.
Get on MSN. |

Got a different 14b that's in very good condition thanks to allyoucaneat_talon. Just awaiting on a j-pipe and a longer silicone coupler for the ic piping and then the thing should be just about good to go. |
Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
Lack of funds and parts at the moment has made me come up with a plan B for the cruise. My original goal was to fix up the laser like 3-5 days before the cruise, drive it and get all the bugs worked out so I wont be stuck somewhere. No money for a tow truck. The silicone coupler should be here saturday, but the earliest I'd be able to have a j pipe is probably next wed.
Depending on how this weekend goes I might just decide to leave it here and ride up with my friend Tyler. However, this doesn't mean I'm giving up on it...I just won't be able to take it for the cruise. |
Re: Getting the Laser ready for AutoX
Man up and be a true dsmer, make a ghetto j pipe, patch it up and hit the road
