They have had a street bike version for a bit, there was a Duke and Duke II (620cc bikes). The bike has a ton of torque and is just supposed to be fun as hell to ride. They do look a little odd and get lots of stares from people wondering what they hell that thing is :D

Re: Looking at bikes.

Being on a Kawi for the last 2 years, I have to say I like them. I have a 01 6R and it is a blast. I would like to go up 750 or a 1000 in the near future. But I think I'll stay with the 600 until gas prices go down. Can't complain about 50mpg and the ability to outrun most anything on the road.

As far as longevity, mine has 56,500 miles on it and still running strong. I bought it with 45,000 on it and have had no maintanence issues with it except scheduled stuff yet. It's a very nimble bike. Very forgiving as well.

I know most people don't like Kawi's but they do hold up well. Jet went out and looked at mine with me before I bought it. You might want to talk to him about what you should be looking for on a used bike if you decide to go that route.

It looks odd at the beginning but the more you get into bikes the more you will start liking the street fighter looks.

I love fast bikes but it gets boring after awhile. Learn how to ride a bike and get one that is balanced than you can have fun all day long at any speed. That is one reason I love my slow SV650S. It is a cheap bike but fun as heck when it comes to the twisties but yet will keep me out of trouble.

I think my next bike will be a Triple speed though. I love the way they look.

Brian I will call you sometime this weekend, and I am looking for a 01+ 600 or 750 suzuki. I did want to take out a loan for a bike with a good down payment, are banks ok with loans on bikes? I know they have a cut off for cars and what not. I would like to spend less then $8500. Cell #612-328-6066 if anyone has a lead on a bike in this price/year range, thank you. Also JET would you be willing to look at a used bike with me if I go that route, I will buy lunch.

Yeah, I can definitely check out a bike for ya. Bikes are fine for loans, but I don't know how old they go. I'll check out a few sites I know and see if there is anything on them.

Now that is a pink bike, but not my style. That 750 looks like a good deal, I will think about it, thanks JET.

I am looking at these, what do you think, I am leaning to the 750 that JET pointed out or the 600 with a lot of mods for 5500. I got pics of the 750 its black/yellow and looks perfect in the pics.

I too am looking into a bike. But I just very recently had a quick reality check though. One of our shop techs (crotch rocket owner) didn't show up to work on Tuesday... Be careful ya'll!!

Yeah, bikes get scary when a lack of self control, inexperience, or sometimes both occur. For the rider, AND the people around them

The people around me is what I am worried about.

Re: Looking at bikes.

I hear ya. My co-worker was "found" though. Wasn't an accident where someone hit him, and got called in right after it happened, he was Found already dead. He must have just been flying around on some side road late Sunday night by himself, then just lost control. Then the next car to drive past that spot called and reported it. People think they are always in control, but sometimes it's just not the case. I will still probably get a bike, but it is just kind of a reality check for me, not to push things too far, because one little mistake on a bike and things can turn out aweful. Such a young guy, but his little motorcycle mistake was the last one he'd ever get a chance to make.
