That announcer should be kicked in the nuts. He's a fuckin moron.

Great pass though man, so close to 8's!

How do you like that kiggly crank trigger setup? I notice when im logging my engine speed is somewhat erratic. I take it the kiggly setup fixes that?

You need an EMS to use it. The ignition timing is dead on, that's the biggest effect. Also starting time is greatly improved. I don't know on the engine speed variation.

I'm going to do some stuff this winter to the Talon. I had a good time this year minus cutting some of my finger off. 9.5 racing FTW. I'm in the process of figuring out the scope of the winter project this year. Front tubular K-member is on the list, who knows! Here is the biggest upgrade, no more horse cock shifter.... http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...103_000043.jpg

And the new:

You are joking right?
You didn't really use the stock one all this time?

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

No joke the stock one is the joint I've been using up to now! I'm so use to the EVO shift knob now it just makes sense to switch...

That's the one! It should make for some easier shifting!

That's a 1/2 second mod right there. The stock 1g knob makes it like a truck shifter.

Next is the air shifter.....

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

Now that the season has been over for a while I’m looking at what I can improve over the winter. I’m going to focus on more weight reduction and driver assistance modifications.

I’m sticking with the dog box, my only real issue at this point is to get the car off of the line consistently. I need to be able to focus on the tree instead of a million things in the car. So I’m going to give a shot at a launch control solenoid on the clutch. I built one and have it installed now, I’m trying to figure out a way to have it fully automated/controlled by the EMS series 2. I’m also going to add a hydraulic e-brake for staging, circuited in just like the CNC ONE, so left front / right rear or something like that.

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...119_194544.jpg

I purchased a rear brake kit, TCE’s drag rear kit and I added brakeman revolution light weight rotors. Thanks again Drew at MAP for hooking me up on the rotors!
I’m going to down size to 15” rims with wider and stickier MT slicks they are from Vassil’s setup. I plan on keeping the QTP's for my EVO.
I’m looking at acquiring or fabricating a Tubular K-member too.
I'll update this thread as I go.

The rear brakes shaved off 19.5 pounds! The majority of the savings came from the calipers. They look sick too.

20 lbs off is awesome! Do you know if those rear calipers have dust boots on the pistons? I would like to get a kit for the rear, but am leery of using a kit that doesn't have dust boots for the street driving the car sees. I also need to ask what has become of your old rear rotors that had work done to them  pm me!

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

They recommend a normal rotor for street driving too....

I don't think they have dust boots, not sure? At least they are cheap aprox 100.

Recommendations are just that! I wouldn't have any issues running them on the street for the rear, fronts are another story.

I took this snapshot at the BIR track scale last time I was there. This is my starting point for weight, without me in the car. I don't remember if I had the door panels installed or not. I know this is with carpet too!
