Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
No attitude just honesty from me.
Scheides has been denying you from the start plus if he picks anything it would be a sweet stock auto 1G like mine maybe that no-one has ever dyno'd in stock form and therefore should have no clue what it makes. Plus we could open the cutout and see what it does. How much did u make? |

No shit it's not the first, I probably won't even hit 500 but guess what, I don't give a shit what you think...if you don't want to read about it, get out of my thread.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
I love it when people throw a ton of money at a setup, know for a fact it will break a number in this case 500 and then be like, it probably won't do it.
Like WTF not? that was kinda the point. I say good luck and here is a toast to 550. |

Come on where's the real number??

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
478 is the last run, letting it cool a bit right now.

478 @ ?psi

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
The black on his car is not an Evo 8/9 black and his exhaust manifold and intake manifold are stock. Never had an FP Black car in with both of those still stock.
|
Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
~480whp on stock manifolds is some freaking legit power dude. Think what it'll do with a tubular exhaust manifold, a ported IM and one of those bit 75mm TB's on it. 500+ pretty easy. Did you end up porting the head and enlarging the valves? I can't remember. I'm sure there's some other mods to do too but hot damn peak power @ 8000 is just beautiful!

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
I thought Dave had already punched the pressure relief on the 255 in his setup. The second pump is progressive so I dunno if that'd work the same way. I was very curious whether he'd see any fueling issues.
It'd be interesting to see someone do a 255/BAP/E85 w/punched pressure relief on a X. If it works like the 8/9's (never a good assumption with the X) then that'd be a good setup. |
Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Nice numbers. You going to use that power for anything?

Well after being down for 5 months the wait is over...
Got do DB at around 930am left around 530 or so. On the way home I only tried my daily driving tune and shit...I was scared...i haven't felt this kind of power ever...scared to even try the track tune. Here are the sheets (was going to wait until after the dyno day tomorrow but fuck it). Daily tune: Power/boost http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...scan0001-4.jpg Power/afr http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...scan0002-4.jpg Power/torque http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...scan0003-4.jpg Track tune! Very good. Now you can put replace the springs and make it look like less of a truck. ;)

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Lomker, I think you need to remove your whole fuel system and copy Murlo's dude!

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Seriously though, Dave did the BlaqOPs kit in the stock hanger I tried it in the Full Blown hanger...that's where my grief started. I traded my stock hanger to BlaqOPs as a part of the deal and the OEM hangers are insanely priced. I actually did buy the same thing and that was my first fuel system attempt! |

I vote -10 or -12 welded into the bottom of the tank with a custom sump.
I've seen it done on DSMs for a long time, however its usually for drag, but similar problem with fuel pickup. |
