So I can't remember what day I got out but maybe monday (7/14) or tuesday (7/15) I got outside and started to install my transmission cooling fan. I've had this thing since 2012.

We plan to leave about 2pm and at this point it's 1:15pm, so I go to meet a friend and grab a go-pro. I'm still launching the car as usual, but with the aid of the vacuum pump, its a lot easier to hold back. 2nd pass I try the right lane, 7.386@88 with a 1.70 60'. I didn't go back in time, but I'm not 100% sure where the 1/8th mile marker is. 3rd, I go back to the left lane where I try to stay the rest of the night. It just feels comfortable. 60' - 1.70 1/8th - 7.36 mph - 96.63 So about pass 4-5 something like that, Nick suggests I try to run the tree and really use this vacuum pump. So this time I just turn on the pump, footbrake the car at the 1st staging light, get RPMs up then bump forward to the second light, then build boost and bam! R/T of .267 I wasn't expecting that, neither was the big loud muscle car thing next to me, it was hilarious because he was looking over at me like WTF and I was looking at him like WTF I'm outtie! Basically this is how I feel about it, replace the words in this description to: When you get to drag race an auto DSM and you find it has a vacuum pump. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpZEUPoMYok&hd=1 Ok so pass number 8-9 i guess I go for it. 60' - 1.65 1/8 - 7.30 1/8 mph - 96.00 1/4 - 11.400 1/4 mph - 118.79 Get the slip and I'm sure that's a new PB et for me, but I was hoping for another 5 mph and a low 11.3 or 11.2 OH well, night isn't over and it's the first time with the car at the track in 2 years, party on! Next pass 60' - 1.741 1/8 - 7.361 1/8 mph - 96.69 1/4 - 11.422 1/4 mph - 120 PB passes: 60' - 1.655 1/8 - 7.270 1/8 mph - 96.74 1/4 - 11.333 1/4 - 119.94 followed by: 60' - 1.715 1/8 - 7.326 1/8 mph - 96.74 1/4 - 11.393 1/4 mph - 119.77 Rest of the night is a good time just running the cars, ran a bunch against Andre which was awesome I think apart from a turbo 5.3L than was in the 140mph trap area not sure on ET, we were the quickest there. I run a few more 11.4 to 11.8s, one run I launch and the car is out of gas it cuts out, which was funny to me because I thought about it about 3-4 runs earlier. If this isn't a clue, my gas gauge doesn't work the best and I haven't driven the car enough to care or worry about it. I'm fully addicted to drag racing, maybe even more than before. I'd really like to get some cams in, but that's a decent amount of coin that I don't have right now and time. Vids to come. (If I don't fail horribly, which I did with one of the cameras I was turning it off at the start of each pass and turning it on in the return lane. hahaha) |

Nice times. Do you think turning up the boost will get you a 10.99 or do you think it will be worthless with cams? 17 passes is nuts. It's really nice staging with The vaccume pump. Did the track officials say anything about running faster than 11.50 without a cage? Hopefully my engine will be in and broken in for the next weds night.

To be honest, i was just thinking about that today.
I think it could work, but it would be ugly. The officials didn't say anything to me or Andre (trapping 130s all day) I kinda want to make the next one, but it's a long day that's for sure. |

What transmission temps are you seeing? Im on the stock converter and I have had a cooler/fan install just like you have for a while and I still have some temp problems.

I got to 200 maybe at the end of a pass, but with the fan I'd be down to under 180 before starting the next pull.
Maybe toward the end of the week, I'll get to work on this thing again, but no need when the heat index is 100*F+, so for now she sits outside letting the window tint cure. |

Looks good! Window tint was one of the best mods I've done, especially the sunroof.
Man, those times are great. I bet I have 300 passes all between 118-120 mph with my old 20g, but times between 12.0 and 12.7, except for that one 11.9. Auto really is the way to go these days, I wish the technology would've been there when I had mine. |

what percent tint? I need to get the Fusion and Bean done eventually. Probably just going to do the legal 50% on the Fusion, and teh bean same either 50% or maybe drop down to like 35%.

I usually get 35%, but they had 30% so i went with that. Usually when I get 35% i wished it was darker, but then 20% was the next step.
On the pics they had I liked 30% for what I liked and for not being too dark to get hassled. |

Damn I love tint but boy do the Highway bulls love me. lol I was pulled over twice in a week once all for my tint! The second time he used "exhibition driving" as the excuse to pull me over. Warnings for days. Mine was at around 40% too.
Anyway, car looks tits. As usual. You really can't beat a panda 1ga. |

I went with legal all around, wish I would've gone just a bit darker, but still a huge improvement in a non A/C car.

Haven't done much to it, drove it around a bit, put some gas in it.
I've been collecting some cores to build a motor, I have a 2G head that is supposed to be a virgin head. I picked that up from Miles on here. I also picked up a running shortblock that I'm going to be using as a core that I got from Polarisamsoil on here. I have a set of Kelford 272s that should be here on monday, I picked up a set of low miles (approx. 9800 miles) Evo 8 springs and retainers. I have a set of evo rockers and keepers on the way. Good choice on the kelfords. I really liked my 272s on my last setup and the 280 are just as awesome. Hopefully they get u 10's

Lame sauce update.
I drove the car a few times since PG and launched it a bunch on the street, I think in the process I broke an axle. (Thats my theory anyway) I've been way too busy to look at the car, but to provide an example it has taken me a month to pull both rear axles,, reinstall them and refill fluid. PG looks iffy. Before I discovered my driveline issue I did pick up some Kelford 272s, evo 9 springs, retainers, keepers, rockers arms to be installed. Priority list: Driveline issue Shift box Cam install. If I can't stall with the kelfords, I will sell them and put in a set of 5 spd cams I have. |

I think it is OK if it launches well and the tire is skipping like it was when turning. I think my car is just a lot more violent in that situation due to driving it with the qtp's on it. I drove it for 45 mins yesterday with the street tires on it and it acted similarly.

With the vacuum pump, without the vacuum pump it pulls thru the brakes by 10psi.
