Don't paint it, it's a harlequin evo 3, they only made a few of them.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
From the couple times I've met mark, I'm pretty sure he's one of those people who would rather take their time with something they have been working on for so long. I'm sure getting the car as mechanically perfect as possible is a little more important, than the way it looks at the moment. I don't think that car is going anywhere anytime soon, so why not take some time to make it as perfect as possible. Paint doesn't effect driveability, and I'd take a mechanically sound car over a pretty princess painted car.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
See, that is were we disagree. I would take his Mirage with the stock motor all painted up pretty with his Evo III body kit panels before I would take it as it sits now...
 :jackoff: |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
That's fine, everyone has their own preferences. Not gonna change my mind by trying have the last word after everything I say and putting cool smilies after your explanations. Enough thread jacking, cars awesome mark, who needs their car to be one color anyways?
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Sorry those "cool smilies" were suppose to be me being sarcastic... Guess that back fired on me, anyways you're right, enough thread jacking!

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
That's a sick setup, nice work mark.
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Fix the smoke screen problem and that setup should kick some arse :D
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Yeah, I had to get out in front there so I wouldn't overfill my engine with your oil.
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Ya I know all about it the turbo was just slaped together to get the car there and back. I will be taken back off and be finnished up soon so I can drive it with out it smoking. I still have to put in the new chip,1600cc,and e85 on my weekend. I will also be rebuilding th down pipe so I can take it out in 2 pices.
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
What was smoking? I saw that too. haha
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
His turbo was just kinda thrown together so that he could make it to the cookout so my guess is that oil was blowing by the seals since it's not fully balanced.
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Maybe I missed it, but what are your power goals with that monster on there?
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
500 to 600ish
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
I was guessing 600-650ish, I guess we'll see once it gets tuned! good luck the thing looks awesome
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
new update on the car
It now has a new turbo pte6776 picked it up from swifty for a hell of a deal http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC05051.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC05053.jpg also turned my new front rotors I picked up this summer from swifty for 70.00 http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC05050.jpg also got 2 new gauges for the car got the wide band and the peak hold boost gauge (picked up the boost gauge to replace the one in the car so they will all be peak hold now) http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC05055.jpg Also over this coming weekend I will be getting dsmlink v.3 for the evo 1-3 ecu since it is now out and is cheap right now. It is $345.00 and is a hell of alot cheaper than the v.3 for dsm's |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
pretty blingin' parts Mark. Where did you get the rotors turned...or resurfaced? because I need to do that for rotors I got.
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Awesome! Can't wait to see this bish back on the road! Save some cash for some dyno time at DB? Get that thing tuned! :D
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
I turned the rotors my self at craigs store. the same one were we get the huge style discount at. Oreillys in brooklyn center
I will be getting dsmlink or now eculink this week for the car. I will also be putting the 2.4 together this winter and it will be going to Shane in the spring for a full tune |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
ECMlink :)
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
So why are you using that huge manifold for that turbo?
When will we ever see paint!!???!?!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!??! Thats really all your car needs :) |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
why not? I picked up the mani for dirt cheap 120.00 and since the gt40 broke 3 times and I did not even get to drive the car all summer because of that I picked up the 6776 for cheap.
kevin and I have no were to paint it yet. So it is not painted yet as soon as I have a place to do it or get out of the townhouse we will paint it. I could care less if it is painted right now any way |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
rock on
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
no more chip and safcII :)

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Awesome. They came out with that sooner than I thought.
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Hawtness
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Nice! Going to street tune it or bring it up to Shane?
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
some street tuning for now since the snow is going to fly soon. I will bring it to Shane in the spring. I am also going to try to build my 2.4 for it this winter
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
sweet. that should be a fun setup. what pistons and rods are you thinking about?
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
got got a set of ross 2.4 pistons for free that are almost new .20over 9:1. the pins were set up to run eagle rods. So I just need the rods and a set of head studs for the 2.4 to get it to the gosh
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
What the heck is the aspect ratio of that exhaust turbine on that pte6776? Must be massive. Let me know how it spools!
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
so awesome, but I can't believe you didn't say anything last night when I was over! I thought you were hiding something :D
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
I did have a gt40 on the car with a 1.15 hot side to start with but it blew 3 times and I am just tired of it since it is so messed up. I picked up the 6776 from swifty for a great price so that is what is on there now. I cant run any thing bigger than a 3in down pipe in the car. it touches the mani and is really close to the radiator. I wanted to run a 4202 but it is to big to fit and I dont want to cut up the car to make it fit.
you were in a hurry to get home and work. I might need some help setting it all up soon. I can not get the mac to log on to it for some reason |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
^Oh right, work. That sucked, my bad.
I'm deep into my SD project on my car but we can throw dsmlink on my tuning laptop and spend some time on the street whenever we get time :D |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
got this the other day. I bought it just for the cusco brake stop bracket
got the full thing for 13.00 http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...vo/25959_0.jpghttp://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...vo/25959_1.jpg |
