A/C sure is nice though!

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

it is but it has never worked right to start with. to even try to fix it I have to take the cage out and the dash out and if a motor is bad I would have to try to find one and have it shipped here from one of the UK,NZ,JP evo boards. It is just not worth it to me right now. That and I could use the extra room in the engine bay the 50 trim already sits on the fal fan. there is now way in hell that the gt3582 will fit the way it is unless it gets a 1 off top mount to hold it.

I wanna see a pic of that fmic poking out from behind the grill! Looks good mark!

I love A/C, so does my wife :D

I drive the truck around freezing my ass off with A/C bumping, then get out and start sweating right away. I also get sick a lot, I don't know why.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

I ran dual cherry bombs right off the headers when me and my dad worked on my old 67 Belvedere. They sound very nice for the price.

I've been wanting to do that on my Laser. Just a 3 inch cherry bomb in the middle and 3 inch pipe out the back.

Haha, understandable. I've been running my 3 inch with a turn down fart can before the rear axle for a bit over 2 years now and have never been pulled over in it.

I hear ya on that. I'm running a Magnaflow and a resonator, and I'm still not as quiet as I want to be. I have a second resonator sitting here I'm thinking of throwing on. If it's still too loud, I may consider some sort of cutout system in the future.

If it's to loud your to OLD!

Are you ever going to paint this car?

TkrPerformance 07-04-2009 12:58 PM

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

I will not be painting it till next year now. The town house people will not leave me alone. They don't like it that I work on my cars and the city has been out 2 times and the cops twice in the last month over it. So I am trying to not make to much noise ect right now and if we paint it every one would be over in a few mins. The town house has already sent us fines for me working on the cars so we are fighting that right now

Also sent out the gt40 to get a smaller hot side for it. I will try to get it all on before the cook out

I have no idea why it looks familiar ;)

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

dad and I worked on the car today. craig and kevin also came by for some beer's

got the griffin scirroco radiator fitted. just have to cut off the water neck and have it welded shut and cut the upper hose fitting and have it come out at a 45 so it will clear the turbo better. Also cut out the full top radiator surport to make room for the radiator so we made a nice flat bar to bolt in and has a 90 piece of steel in on the bottom to hold the top of the radiator.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01041.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01042.jpg

we put in a 2g upper motor mount that we had to mod it to fit with the polly mount
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01045.jpg

got both of the tial 38's on the manifold
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01043.jpg

also picked up a set of hood pins from craig. need to use them now since the car will no longer have a hood latch on it because the radiator is now sitting there.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

got the radiator and water neck back from John(Pushit2.0) to day. big thanks to him for welding them up. Had the upper hose pipe welded at a 45 and the radiator cap cut off and welded shut. On the water neck it is the evo III bottom and a 1g upper and it is also at a diffrent angle so it will clear the turbo when it get's back I hope soon so I can get the car done.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01054.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01055.jpg
water neck
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01052.jpg
also put in the other evo III water pipe I had since I dont need to run the dented pipe any more. Also show's the new angle for the water neck
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01053.jpg

Dad worked on the radiator. cut some holes in the mounting tabs to install the oem rubber mounts for the radiator and welded in a set of bolts to hold the bottom of the radiator.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01056.jpg
the new upper radiator support. We made it a bolt in so the radiator can be taken out with out taking the top mount off the car. It also holds the front and back of the top of the radiator so it does not move at all.

A lot of work! Looks fun! So are you gonna just use a chip for this car?

TkrPerformance 08-13-2009 09:19 AM

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

just the chip for now with the safc2. that is all that has been out there for the car. unless I want to run aem or power fc.
But dsmlink just got done with the firm ware for the evo I-III ecu so I will be switching it over soon

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

dad and I worked on it a little today after redoing the full exhaust on the mirage hatch

got the lower radiator hose made and put on
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01062.jpg
cut off the safety latch and main latch off the hood since it hit the new radiator
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01063.jpg
in stalled the hood pins on the car
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC01064.jpg
also picked up a set of tial 38mm flanges with some pipe on them already to make the dump tubes

Jebus, with that setup you should be hitting 500HP at about 4k RPMs haha

TkrPerformance 08-19-2009 09:12 PM

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

got the rest of the piping today from craig. so I got the 2 dump tubes made up and on the tial 38's

got the hot side for the turbo today so the down pipe could be started. Kevin came over and helped out huge with fabing up the down pipe. it is all tacked right now I just have to weld it all together in the morring. Put the 2 bung in it for the o2 and wide band and wrap it.
