Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
got the other parts in the car, took pics with the phone so they are small and not the best
new radiator and fal fan http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...cture001-1.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...Picture005.jpg took the S.S. coolant over flow that use to be in the spyder and put it in. Looks better than the oem plastic tank http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...cture003-4.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...cture004-3.jpg Also the car was making noise like alt belt was loose but it was not that http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...cture002-4.jpg |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Wow, crank pulley separated?
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
the box of free stuff showed up from the UK yesterday.
evo III rear light up fogs http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04951.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04952.jpg also the evo III rear harness for the trunk. It is the only part of the wiring that was not evo so the lights will be a plug in and the rear defrost will work now http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04953.jpg |

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Very interesting! So will you do evo TB's ? :)
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
yes he does
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
He told me he only rebuilds them, but won't port them.
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
OK I can do them. I wasn't sure but learned through Scheides that
Quote:
So that info dismissed my concerns about machining one and it going out of round like usually happens with the 1G Non Turbo TBs I do. They may go a little out of round but as long as you can control the idle RPM it won't matter. I won't quote a price until I do a couple but figure around $150-$175for full rebuild, beadblast machine bore, new polished plate and bore. Thanks Steve BTW here's a new item I'm now doing for old school cars: http://www.throttlebodys.com/90_NT_63mm_TB_001.jpg 1990 Non Turbo 63mm TB made Turbo ready. Target users: 1990 Turbo owners. Advantages - max flow, no restrictive elbow, one less surface to seal. |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
I look forward to seeing your Evo TB work!

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
well took some pics since the tires are getting replace to day order some kumho's ecsta mx to match the rears I picked up a while ago.
painted the axel nuts black on the front just have to do the rears now http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04959.jpg also never took pics of the rear fogs in so http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04958.jpg also picked up a full evo III center console so it is all black now. It was the evo shifter plastic and the gray mirage console. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04960.jpg also moved the turbo timer from were it was to in side the console now. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04961.jpg |

Looking good Mark.
And welcome to the site Steve! |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
here is what Ali made for me yesterday they are suede. I still have enuff to do the head liner and the rear speaker deck.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04962.jpg after I got them put on. I just used some extra thread and drilled holes into the plastic part for the shifter. the oem one was glued and I did not want to glue it on. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04963.jpg all back in the car http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04966.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04967.jpg |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Looks good. Ever gonna paint this thing?
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
we will be painting it this summer
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Get rid of those nasty mats too!
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
the mats came with the front clip and they work great for snow and salt and they fit the car. I have not found other mats that will fit yet so they just stay in all the time. it need something in it because the carpet in the car is super thin

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
made a new rear speaker deck this morring and covered it in the grey suede
here is the old one that had the 3rd brake light holes in it still and it was falling apart after we took it out to run the evo trunk harness http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04973.jpg the new one http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04971.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04972.jpg also yesterday when I was cleaning up the garage I found the bracket for the mini fire extinguisher. So I thought why not put it in the car it was just sitting in the garage and it is ricey chrome. it got mounted to the cage behind my seat. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04974.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04975.jpg |

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
picked up a mini battery kit local out of a evo 8 for 125.00. got it all installed with out the extra piece for the evo 8.
the yellow top with the tray and bolts was 50lbs the mini kit with tray and bolts 23lbs I was able to shove it all the way past the frame rail on the car by the fender just enuff room for it to sit in there. It frees up a ton of room also when I redo the fmic and piping later on. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04976.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04977.jpg |

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
Yea thats cool, open the bay up a bit. Mine isnt worth the time to do anything fancy like that lol.
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
i just did it because it was a killer deal. it was this or buy a battery box and a push pull switch to put the yellow top in the trunk. this end up to be a better deal in the end. now i have a yellow top for the spyder
|
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
I thought about doing the rear battery just to clean up the bay, but I have no patience with my car at the moment..lol.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
last week we went to the junk yard and got some parts for the mirage hatch, but I found a 94 talon that had polly mounts in it still. Picked them up for 5.00 each. u-pull-it rocks :)
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC05026.jpg also traded the 95 awd tranny I had for the buschur 2g race fmic kit http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC05030.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC05029.jpg it is going in tomorrow just have to move some stuff around on the car to get it to fit. also back on dyno day I picked up a few parts for the car also HKS twin plate. it will replace the QM twin plate that is in it now http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04997.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04998.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04999.jpg also a set of ross 2.4 7bolt pistons. I am now on the way to build the 2.4 I got for free a few years ago http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04992.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04993.jpg |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
got some new parts at back to the 50's this weekend
s.s. radiator hose got it for 60.00 comes with 4 ends and is 48in long so it is good for both hose's http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC00849.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC00850.jpg Found the best deal ever for horns for the car got a set for the evo, talon, and hatch. They are hella super tone horns the 118db ones that sell for 55.00 a set. I got them all new for 6.00 a set the guy had now clue what they were. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC00851.jpg |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
got the fmic put on. had to move the oil cooler up a bit and will have to move the tow hook mount so the piping can fit. also had to cut up the bumper a bit to get it all to fit.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC00855.jpg |
Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming
also thinking of taking out the a/c. It has never worked right any way one of the elec motors for the auto climate control does not move right to let the a/c come in to the car. The main reason to do it is to get more room for the gt3582 that will go in some time. with the a/c out I will take out the honda radiator and fal fan and pick up a afco scirocco radiator from summit that will bolt in the core surpport. that way I dont have to make a manifold for the car. I can just pick up a good t-3 mani.
