Is there an entry option for Display Car only and not be judged? After what happend a few years back at a somewhat local car show event, i don't think i'll ever show to be judged.

JET 07-18-2005 12:19 PM

Re: All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 21st, 2005

It is just public judging, there aren't actual judges. People that enter their cars get a form and pick the best car out of each category.

Its all participant voting, no judges. You'll truely be judged by your piers only. And to be honest, a lot of people aren't there for the car show part anyways. Its just as much about hanging out with fellow Mitsu nuts as it is about the car show.

Besides, you need to be registered with a car number to be eligible for the prizes. You don't want to miss out on that. So just come and be in the show and have fun with it.

Curt

That's cool. I was at a car show once where the hosting club did the judging. You can just imagine who most of the winners were. Pissed alot of people off in the process. I believe Brainerd is the weekend before so that makes my appearance chances a little better.

Oh, come on... I spell 99% of my words right. If we all had perfect sentences, we'd put an "A" in front of "body of water" and we'd capitalize Rogers. So there. :p

I will show up, probably in the old Mighty Max. Anyone who wants to look better can park next to it, anything sitting beside it will look better ;) If I have a turbo on it by then do I get a prize? I will race the toaster van for one!

BTW, I will get you some things to give away as well Curt. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Hey Raptor,

That would be cool if you wanted to donate some prizes. I'll let you decide on what to donate. I actually want to see your Mighty Max. I love those things. They could kick the crap out of those toaster vans. ;)

Things are looking really good for the Cookout. We are now up to 97 sign-ups. I've updated the sign-up list. You can see the huge variety of Mitsus at: http://www.mn3s.org/attendees2005.html

We are still on pace to have at least 120 cars the day of the show. Some of the cars scheduled to be there include the world's fastest full weight 3/S, the only 3g twin turbo Eclipse utilizing 3/S turbos and manifolds. Or how about an Avenger with a turbo 4g63 engine and AWD.

Its gonna be a great collection of Mitsubishis. Hope you can make it.

Curt

CDeutsch is just jealous. On some highway pulls, my Spyder was faster than his POS DSM. It was pretty funny. :-)

Re: All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 21st, 2005

Hey everyone,

We've got 107 sign-ups so far!! We are only a little over two weeks away now. If you haven't signed up yet, its not too late. The sign up form is at:
http://mn3s.zforcenetwork.com/list/?p=subscribe&id=4

After you sign up, take a minute and Paypal me the $5 registration fee. You don't have to pay ahead of time, but it speeds things up the day of the show and it makes my life easier. My paypal is: cgendron@mail.com

Also, you can print off your car sign ahead of time too. The car sign is at:
http://www.mn3s.org/car-sign.doc
My example sign is at:
http://www.mn3s.org/car-sign-curt.doc

If you do these three things, you'll be set for the All Mitsu Cookout.

We'll easily break the 120 car mark. Its gonna be fun!!

later,
Curt

Hey I have a little problem... I can go but my neices baptism is that morning so is there any way I can just come up and drop off the car at 10:30 and then show up around 1? Judging is around 3-4 I think right?

Yep, that should work. We do the trophy presentation about 4pm. Just find me and we'll get you register a little early. If you do the paypal thing and get your car sign ready ahead of time, we can do it really fast. ;)

Yep, sponsers cars can be entered in the show. You probably will lose some votes though if your car is up by your booth instead of in the DSM group. Its your choice what you want to do on that one.

Re: All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 21st, 2005

Plans are coming along great for the Cookout. The trophies are ordered and a lot of the supplies are purchased. The only thing we need now is more cars! We are up to 119 cars signed up, which is great, but I know we can do better.

I updated the sign-up list last night. Its at: http://mn3s.org/attendees2005.html And we've had five more sign-ups since then.

If you haven't signed up yet and you are planning on coming, please sign-up. Its saves me time on the day of the show. Then send me the $5 through paypal and print off your car sign and you'll be good to go.

Its crunch time now.

Curt

Well sorry to back out but I'm going to Road America in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin this weekend for the Generac 500 race. I got free tickets and pit passes to the race so I'm gunna have to skip the cookout!

Hopefully there will still be a dsmstyle dyno day so I can meet some of you there. Have a good weekend guys, hope all goes well!

Re: All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 21st, 2005

Hey everyone,

The All Mitsu Cookout is only two days away. Woo-hoo! I just checked the sign up list and we have 151 cars signed up!! WOW!

We'll be using the FRS radios for annoucing prize winners. There is always the urge to chit chat with your buddies on these things. I'd love it if you tryed to resist that urge. A lot of people will be listening for the car numbers. We have a lot of prizes to give away, so we'll be giving stuff away during the whole show.

I've also gotten some last minute giveaways. http://www.rockauto.com gave me enough magnets for everyone. And they gave me a $25 gift certificate. Plus our sponsors, Brookdale Mitsubishi, LSE Performance, and JET's Customs all donated prizes.

Hope you can make it out to the All Mitsu Cookout. It is this Sunday and it runs from 11am to 4pm.

later,
Curt

We have 7 DSMs in our driveway and none of them run, go figure.

You'll meet plenty of people that you'll never even notice your friends aren't there. :) Just let them know you are from DSMStyle and maybe your screen name.... it's definately a good time, and it's a perfect day (no rain forecasted).

Allan & I will be there sometime around 11:30 or so.
