I might go, i'll know about 12 hours before hand ;).

AJ 12-01-2004 02:15 PM

And watch this will be the year the SO doesn't happen due to weather. HAHAHAHA

santa 12-05-2004 10:06 PM

I'll be going hopefully with a few more things done to my car. see what the Fricken laser can do?

1QUICK4 12-06-2004 10:37 AM

I'll be there

Goat Blower 12-06-2004 02:44 PM

Make sure you bring your back seats and hatch cover, Bushnuts made a point about those being required unless you're running bracket or Q16, although no one's ever checked at the SO. Better safe than sorry.

CVD 12-06-2004 05:24 PM

Im not stripping my car, but niether am I going to try to find a hatch cover.

Other than bracket or Q16, what other classes are there that you would be "opting out of" without those?

Halon 12-06-2004 09:48 PM

I might actually be able to make this one. I've yet to make a DSM Shootout because of my military work schedule. But hey, I am a civilian in a few more months!!! So as long as I make it home and get all my new shit on and working, then I might be able to finally go to one.

Drive the RV over, stay at the track, drag a broken DSM home! :D

I wonder how the attendance will be this year? People don't seem to be discussing it across the net like the previous years.

I think there is some concern over the car that burnt up at the track earlier this season. Also the problems with cleaning up the track after fluid spills last year doesn't help any. Some people doubt the prep put into the event by the track staff.

CVD 07-15-2005 12:38 AM

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!

I dont think theres THAT much concern over the car fire this year. If you think your car could potentially start on fire, dont race it. I keep a fire extinguisher in my car and I have never been worried or concerned about a tracks fire fighting abilities.

I think the lack of interest is largely because DSMs are getting old, and because last years SO kind of sucked. All the fast cars went to the FP shootout instead, plus we got rained on.

JET 07-15-2005 03:50 PM

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!

I think going to a 1 day event really hurt it too. Having the import day on Sat gave you 2 days of racing, plus Friday night. I got a ton of racing in during 2003. Now it won't be nearly as much fun. I am still going though.

Goat Blower 07-15-2005 04:27 PM

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!

I wish another shop would pick up the ball and have the event yearly at Cedar Falls. Ohio is a long damn drive to haul a DSM back and forth. Norwalk sucks but the track is decent.

So who's going this year? I'm thinking about it.

I am going to try and make it, we will have to see though!

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!

I'm going. Due to a mix-up in plans, I ended up getting a hotel up in Sandusky. Less partying with the NABR crew, but closer to bars and entertainment. I've got the trailer, nice tow rig and now I just need to get the car up and running. Doh.

I'll be at Moroso's big event on the 21st instead next month. Hoping to make it my first event with the GSX hopefully tuned.

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!

Looks like I'm going. I'll be there Saturday night and Sunday. Anyone have a list of the hotels people usually stay at? I do have a back up plan if I can't find one.

Hope to see some of you guys there! I'll be driving the Silver Stealth with MN plates. The Talon hasn't proven itself in the reliability department yet.

I just got back from the shootout. The drive was long, but it was worth it. Shepherd's car is completely insane. Seeing that in person and watching it run was amazing. Took a bunch of pics, here is a link:

I saw pics with Rain? Did the event get in or cut short?

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!

I wish I could've gone, but it looks like parts of the weekend got rained out. It sounds like a smaller turn out from the faster guys as well.

The pic of the yellow 2g talon with the shoot is bad ass. Any idea what that ran?

im sorry guys, the bus left almost a year ago. Or are you talking about the 2006 shootout?

Goat Blower 08-05-2006 02:06 PM

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!

Actually, I"m looking for a rider or two. We'd be splitting gas 3-4 ways but if things go well, it'll be a big diesel motorhome so your accomodations would be included with gas purchase. :D Worse case we just take my Avalanche and hotel it.

Goat Blower 08-05-2006 02:13 PM

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!

Motorhome just bit the dust, looks like we'll be hotelling it. We could also split that 4 ways to save $$.

I can bring a blow up mattress and the pump for sleeping on the floor. I wish to spend as little as possible. IF that's possible. Steve, talk to me on AIM sometime. My s/n is BoostinSwifty38. Or, PM me for my cell. Cher and myself took next thursday, through the following monday off (yes, I know I already stated that) and so I wish to know when you wanted to leave, or whatnot. I know that the nabr guys are saying that most the hotels down there are getting quite booked up, so It will be interesting to find out were we will be.

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!

My buddy just chumped me out for going, even though we've had this planned for six months. That took the wind out of my sails, plus the fact that I've been just too busy with work to finish my car. Don't count on me to go at this point, if I do, it'll be a last minute commitment as with every year.

Is there any local track events that aren't some silly import day?

There is a tristate day next weekend. I was toying with going.

Hmmm, I'd rather go 3 hours to learn to drive again than 12 hours. Maybe I'll head down there as well.

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!

Well, you are all currently missing all the french guys who showed up with super-clean dsm's. Also, there is a motor being built right now, shortblock n all, then put into a black 2g..it's 1:20 am! Anyway, typical crazy dsm shootout. Looks like more MN people need to show up though...

Ah yes, the Ontario crowd including a purple 1G with a dissected computer in the back?

Bah, been there, done that. We were rebuilding my head til 4am on the trailer in the parking lot of the Econodump two years ago.

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!

Well, that black car ended up running pretty well today. That riced out baby blue canadian 2g, ran a damn 10! and, consistantly! Talk about a sleeper. I can't see many cars in canada being that fast, but wow, this one suprised the hell outta me. Chris's car today snapped a rear axle, so we converted it to fwd, and ran some consistant 12.5's and 126. Some other things are wrong with the car, so who knows. I'm sure they'll figure it out. Anyway, it's off to dinner soon. peace!
